Do you think that the 'Convention' tract work will seem silly to most?

Future converts are not the aim at all. They don't seriously want a bunch of unwashed worldlies showing up at conventions thirsting for knowledge.
The "invitation" is just a front to show they carry out "free educational programs" in compliance with non-profit rules. The aim is to maintain precious tax-free status.

The publishers fall for the ruse that they're performing lifesaving work and everyone's happy in la la land. The zero success rate never even phases them.

    Great Assessment.

All these lifesaving invitations are nothing but busy work to keep the masses running getting nowhere fast in that hamster wheel.

Jeff, I think that link is to last year's tract?

This year is "Follow the Christ." Atlantis posted scans here:

Oops! I forgot that there was a similar work last year - so just pulled up the first thread I saw on it. Sorry.

Also, it keeps the convention first and foremost in the minds of the dubs who spend hours and hours distributing the tract. As noted, they think they're performing an important work, but on the perchance that they actually get a possible convert to attend isn't as important as the fact that they themselves haven't given any thought to anything other than talking about and attending the convention...exactly what the GB wanted.

Good point UC. After all, how could you spend three weeks inviting the entire territory to the convention and then not go yourself?

They might be noticing a drop in summer convention numbers [especially the $$$], and wishing to hammer home to the membership to get their asses in gear and support this 'spiritual feast'.

What a bunch of ingrates y'all are!!!

For me, any tract work is a true blessing from Jehober.

Me and my kids don't have to talk to anyone. We just cram it in people's hands, and the householder is pleasantly surprised to see us backing away.

Then I can get back to my real "field service":

Working on my kids, one little seed at a time.

Of course, I agree with what has been stated in the posts regarding waste, inefficiency, busy-work, etc. I am annoyed, but detached, as I consider the foolishness of it all. However, when I consider my devoted and sincere loved ones going to great physical and financial expense over this transparent ruse of the WT, I am angry. The JWs consider this tract work as a means to save souls - though possibly few - and to honor Jehovah. Self-sacrifice is just a part of the big picture.
The complex hold of mind-control over its victims seems a virtual prison, whose walls we concerned humans cannot breach. Yet, here we are, we who were freed from the Tower. I remain cautiously hopeful.
