Non organised ex JWs, why?

From time to time we hear that the ex JWs should have organised themselves to a high level and that doesn't necessarily mean setting up another religion in opposition to the WTS but some sort of rather secular organisation to carry out that task.

No doubt this lack of organisation plays in the hands of the WTS who escape the nightmare of a highly organised efficient opposition. The rough treatment of ex members in my opinion is intentional and aims at emotionally stunning them to pre empt the possibility of them having a clear mind with which to fight their fraudulent, cultic objectives.

I was thinking if 1 million ex dubs (out of the several million of them) contributed a once off amount of $200 (£100) not much by today's standards, that would accumulate $200 million (£100 million) a substantial amount of money with which to seriously counter their propaganda and general strategies. With high impact documentaries, centers for cultic detoxification or helping recent ex members adjust to life, preventing them from making new victims. The ex dubs will have something tangible to look forward to something organised to counter the well organised WTS. They won't feel demoralised as if fighting alone against a well structured and wealthy enemy.

An average sort of $200 contribution to see the WTS seriously challenged and rolled back is a small price to pay.

The point is that there should be trust that those receiving the contributions will not scam and run away with them or otherwise abuse them. This could be done in stages give them some money see that they use it well before giving them more. And have several people to inspect how it is used.

The WTS is a venomous snake at a never ending war with all ex JWs that deserves to get thrushed, hammered to the ground, once and for all. And we let them off very lightly.

Just as you can't herd cats, you can't "lead" XJWs.

...and X-Dubs are as cheap as Dubs.

this is a good idea, but, i see a few problems. one, like you said, who would get the funds? none of us really know each other, so, who do we trust? second, if for some reason it fails, you know the wts would be all over it and would say, "see that's what happens when you go against jehovah" it would help them. i dream of this getting done, and if it was well organised, and the funds were transparent to all, i'd gladly write my check.

I can think of a couple of things that might work contrary to your idea.

1 - many ex jws are living hand to mouth because the religion in its own way forbid education. Although 200 bucks may not be alot to some, to others it means putting food on the table.

2 - of those 1 mil ex jws, how many walked away, never wanting to think of the religion again. That being the case, they would certainly never contribute in any fashion to an ex-jw movement.

Some ex dubs may be cheap but not all are, and I am just throwing an idea if the ex dubs want to get rid of the WTS or at least take their revenge against it in a meaningful way they must set up something that's well organised, otherwise who else will do it?

If it can't be done due to meanness or general lack of motive then that's too bad, let the WTS go unchallenged for a lot more time.

I dream of doing something like this. Of course there are people who have put things together that have been effective like Randy's effort. Perhaps this movement needs to grow organically. And our efforts are making a difference. Perhaps when the time is right....

I don't think you need to challenge the WTS. I think the public needs to know more about it's dangers. A proper battle begins with cutting off the enemies supply line, and that would be new members. With the proper documentation and media outlets, the impact just might be destructive to the WTS and the individual KH.

Money, I think some exjws may need help in some way, I'm willing to help, but you have to have an efficient screening process to prevent rif raf from entering the system.

Anyone remember this commercial? Think it aired during the SuperBowl. Now just take what NN said and imagine JWs (or ex-JWs) as the cats and the GB as the cowboys.

My experience with the watchtower has left me wary of and reluctant to be involved with any organization. Maybe that will wear off a little some day.
