Great. Now my folks are going to pester me because I went to see the Padres play last Wednesday night...

did they offer you the tickets or did you provide them? the articles talks only about being invited, not about inviting

Theme scripture has been use sooooo many times by the WTS ..it is clear that what they really mean is "Let The Watchtower Guide Your Steps"

Do I hear the cogs of dubs brains turning as they wrestle with conscience over going around with a worldly friend? Or is it a case of mass indifference? I don't know....Last December an old sister with decades of service told me she was sorely tempted to accept an invite to a Christmas Lunch by her local Care Group. That was caused by the congo ignoring her..Will more follow??

P.17 talks about using The Bible to allow you make "personal decisions" by your power of reason - just as long as that decision agrees with what the mag preaches...

Blondie, Mr. Flipper here. Let's see, did they say I need to watch my associations with," people who don't have the same moral values"? Well I guess 4 years ago I did make the right decision in stopping my associating with them then. God knows I wouldn't want to be caught associating with child molesters or those that hide it. Good move Flipper.

    Blondie,

I have been meaning to thank you for your Comments You Will Not Hear ... series. You put into words the things I used to think in my heart during those hard-to-stomach WT studies. I remember one study when the duties of a watchman were under discussion. The magazine made the point that a sudden noise, the wind blowing, things like that might make a watchman nervous and skittish. They were trying to justify their sounding so many false alarms.

I remember thinking to myself that if a true watchman had sounded as many false alarms as they had, he would have been relieved of his duties and stoned to death. But of course, I held my piece and went along with the flow. I didn't know at the time that cognitive dissonance was the term for what I was experiencing.

Please keep giving us our spiritual food at the proper time

Thank you Blondie: I'm at a point in my "recovery" where reading any of the the Society's lit makes me sick, but reading your summray help me keep up with the latest crazyness, lest I forget why I left.

Just remember, flipper, that there are more molesters outside the Borg than in. They're everywhere. So your safety and the safety of your children, relatives', friends', etc., is not guaranteed.

    But it's a start.

juni, after 45 years of attending meetings, 40 while still only seeing the tip of the iceberg between what they are really saying....I'm glad to share what little I have learned in the last 10 years.

Good comments. What a WT study should be like.

Thanks again Blondie for your thoughts and comments. It amazes me how its encouraged that R & F should read the Bible and think on it, its like what if they see the inconsistancy of the doctrines? But then I remember the constant repeating of those doctrine's and then suddenly you only see what you want to see in the Bible. Your agenda (WTS idea's) are seen and stand out to you, you bury and ignore things that dont add up.
