Yeah, it is pretty sad that my parents would probably be relieved at my death because then I would have a chance at the new system again. That is what she said when my gay uncle passed away. "Well at least he has a chance in the Paradise now." It is all so twisted!!

The more I read some of the comments from people in your/my congo, no wonder I always had the feelings that something just was not right. The feeling of the place. I don't think all congos are like that, but I feel I am probably wrong.

I just never knew people felt that way and so many from one congo. Maybe because I did not feel that way towards "worldly" people or my KIDS.

As we have talked before, If not for leaving the congo, I would not have been able to help my daughter and indeed, save her life.

I was at a crossroads, the truth or my family.

    My family

    Hang in there,

No matter how I try to understand this line of thinking I just cannot. My mom has not even met all of her grandchildren. I always suspected she thinks that her family is better off dead. If I ever heard her say anything to that effect I would back hand the old lady across the mouth. Pay backs are a bitch. Come to think of it, she is safer now that she shuns me. Like someone else said, "Good riddance to bad trash".

BFD- of the angry, sick and tired class who wrote he'd hit his mother but never would although thinking about it doesn't feel bad.

    Purps,

I will once again tell you i'm SOOOOOO glad you saw the need to leave when you did, for your daughter's and the rest of your family's sake.

I have always been quite shocked at the statements and attitudes of MANY in our congregation. I too always knew that something just wasn't right about the congo, but I always thought, "Jehovah will fix things when the time is right". But then I realized the flaw in that thinking. First of all, the problem with our congo, as well as in a countless number of others, is that the biggest issue is the THINKING of many JWs, like that of discussion of this thread. So I thought to myself, "will Jehovah come throught and change the ATTITUDE of almost everyone here?" Now i understand obvious problems that can be corrected, but we're dealing with people's THOUGHTS that the organization has strong influence over, and it doesn't look like they're budging. Few break the barriers and see through the crap and will break past organizational veil.

When I realized that, I knew the congo would keep going downhill, and that it has. Especially after being appointed an MS did ones express these views more openly to me. In fact it was pretty scary the amount of ones that had thoughts similar and worse than these. That's when I realized(part of the reason) that I needed to begin my exit. It started to wear me more and more down. I don't care what anyone may tell you, that congo will not grow. Only way that's possible is by brothers moving in, and(or) parents raising their children into it, which is again the case in many congos.

That's why you don't belong and couldn't make yourself fit in.

    Your better than that,

    Ohhh... yea he's still there.

    Guy thinks he knows everything.

That is...I think he's still there. Not unless he's left in my 3 weeks of sporadic meeting attendance.

He's been in and out of the congo many times.

But I give the congo a good 15 years and I think it'll be virtually non-existant.
