I am always surprised that there are so few leaving in my area. Yes, many are slowing down but you would think they would just jack it in. The reason I feel that way is that most people have problems with depression or anxiety or illness (excuses?). There is an overwhwlming feeling of negativity around the JW`s. It is unbearable. The negative outlook really effected my mind. I suppose I am saying that I think a great number are seriously pissed off but yet stick it out for their own reasons, even though they feel like bolting .
What's Your Opinion Of Today's Jehovah's Witness?

I think people may stay in because there are types of people who won't ever move, change, think. Some people just like the status quo.

Today’s Jehovah’s Witnesses are unable to discern that they are being spoon-fed the lie. They refuse to take in the vast amount of information that proves the WTBTS is directed by the demons. They go on loving the lie.
I can only pray that they wake up sometime before their lives expires and they look back to see the utter waste of a lifetime.
All the information is there for the taking…

neverendingjourney
I wasn’t around for 1975. My parents became Witnesses during the early 80s, when I was a child. I remember that people back then felt a real sense of urgency and imminence about Armageddon. The generation teaching was still in effect. They had a real, tangible window of time to point to.
I bought into the JW garbage and got baptized in the mid 90s. However, I never believed that the end was right around the corner. I thought JWs were the one true religion, but I was waiting for “new light” to clarify things. There was enough there that I liked to make me think they were the truth (trinity doctrine, immortal soul doctrine, preaching work, etc.) There were just too many things that needed to happen in too short a period of time for me to believe the end could come tomorrow.
After the 95 generation change, I got the feeling that most JWs I knew didn’t feel in their hearts that the end was near. They might preach that from the platform or in the preaching work, but they didn’t really believe it. Not like JWs did in the early and mid 80s. I think most of those that are left stick around because they’ve dedicated too much of their lives to be willing to concede that the religion is a sham. They, like I once did, probably hold on to the few things that make sense in their mind and justify sticking around because of the where-else-can-we-go mentality. Plus, they have a theocratic hierarchy with positions to chase after that keeps them busy in JW work, which in turn keeps them too busy to think about other things. Closing yourself off to any non-JW sources of information also helps keep them brainwashed and walking in step with Brooklyn. -

Today's JWs seem to care less about doctrine than the ones I knew 20 - 30 years ago. They seem to be more interested in the JW social lifestyle, which is something that I, fortunately, was never a part of.

Since they are a millenial group, they cannot dedicate themselves to a certain time or date. They just wait. And wait. For nothing.

Many will miss meetings and go away for leisure time at weekends etc, Many youngsters having sex and leading double lives
That's what I saw alot of when I was a dub in the '90's...
But I saw the other side too, depression , oppression, neglect, sadness, fake smiles, fake handshakes, fake love and greetings, fake, fake, fake, stepford wives is right, ROBOTS R US.
Today's witnoids? some are brainwashed, some are relaxed and fading, some are diehard hammer-heads ready to come down on anyone not toting the line, and ready to turn in anyone who doesn't fit the JW mold.
Many are black and white thinkers, who think exactly what the slave tells them to think.

Brainwashed no-thinks with a nasty judgemental tip. For the most part.

SOS. Just blander, more stale bread surrounding it.

I'm glad by the harshness I think it helps more people find their way out. If I had had a happy sincere double life in high school who knows where I would be today.
