choosing life
The pictures from the Hubble telscope are mind-boggling. I like the cooment about the universe growing, like a plant. I love to watch the night sky and enjoy shows about space.
I saw a show the other day about black holes. They were talking about a galaxy starting from a black hole and ending as one, then repeating the cycle.
I believe there is evidence of intelligent design.

The Universe is not a created "thing" but is organic and therefore has evolved over time, from pure energy at the time of the Big Bang. Gradually, some of the energy condensed to form light, then matter. Currently, we have a dynamic mix of matter and energy which allows for the property we call "life". Life is an intrinsic property of all matter in which matter constantly attempts to achieve higher complexity, up to the limits of available energy and material resources and existing conditions. This property acts everywhere in the Universe, but conditions limit the complexity of matter in some places. Conditions are much more favorable on Earth than on the Moon. Conditions on Mars were once similar to Earth, however Mars lost its oceans and atmosphere, so conditons are not as good as they once were. Biological life may possibly still exist on Mars. There are other places with conditons similar to Earth i.e. liquid water, clement temperatures, where biological life exists. This was recognized by the ancient Greeks, even though they did not have the means to visit those places. Not sure if the Universe is "sentient" or "conscious" however it behaves in a manner similar to a living thing, i.e. it has grown in both size and complexity through time, and some structures could be analagous to "organs".

It's expanding because it is an energy form that has nothing but void before it. Higher energy expands into lower energy (no energy) in order to balance the energy level.
The universe is growing, like a plant. It's becoming more complex and developed. Evolution, you might say. There may be a low level of intelligence in it.The universe does not "expand" into anything, that would imply there was something for it to expand into. This is a common misconception, the universe is literally everything. It is expanding in the sense that the space between the galaxies is expanding.
Personally I think there are limits to what we could ever hope to understand about the universe such as what caused it to appear, I have similar issues with the origin of the universe as I did with the origins of god. I could never fathom why a deity which had been in existance for all eternity would suddenly decide on a whim to make a universe and similarly I cannot see why a universe would just pop into existance

I remember seeing Saturn and it's rings through a high powered telescope set up by some Astronomy students. It was really incredible. During college, I took a course on the birth and death of stars. It's beautiful out there. I don't feel it came about just by chance, but that's just my humble opinion.

THE UNIVERSE - What do you now believe about it?
that it's one very large computer program.
input/output. everything computes, even blackholes.

It was the vastness of the Universe that made me wonder if it was possible that Jesus Christ came here to give his life to save this planet "once for all time". Was it possible that we were the only life in all the Universe? What if somebody else on another planet sinned? Are they out of luck because Jesus already saved us? These thoughts started to make the whole Bible look ridiculous.

It also detailed some of the planets within our solar system and some beyond it and speculated how some were favorable for habitation and that some show evidence of having a water supply.
It seems to me that the key word is speculated. Even the most eminent scientists are speculating.
I am in awe of it. I realize how little I know or may ever know about it.
However, Stephen Hawking, a noted cosmologist, believes in the big bang theory. He currently studies black holes and feels that they themselves are "mini universes."
At some point in time, will we ever know? Will we ever live forever on some plane of existance and have our questions answered? I hope so. I wished for so long that it would be on an earth that was completely transformed into a paradise, and that my brain could absorb the answers to questions about our universe.
Good question.
