They were so full of shit with that.
I actually ran across one of the sources of their research into that backward masking crap. Guess who authored it?

Has the WT ever banned country music? I used to play some pretty seedy country bars/clubs (disco era and since) and rest assured there's probably more fornicatin' on a country dance floor than you'd care to see. That and the sight of 70-80yr olds shakin' booty --- Oh, the
memoriesmammaries. My depressions come from a variety of sources. -

That is ridiculous reasoning I also listened to a lot of disco and never got out of it the urge to fornicate. What I used to hear at the time is that the disco beat oiginated from pagan African dances (and I don't recall well perhaps it was also a form of sex dance) so that's why they disapproved of it.
To Victorian puritans like them let's not forget even those most innocent celebrations, birthdays, are bad.

This is one of the few occasions that God used the WT to dispense food at the proper time.

Has anyone else heard of the song You Set My Heart On Fire by Tina Charles? Or John Davis and his Monster Orchestra's song The Magic Is You? If so, that means either you were a hard-core disco fan, have access to a lot of resources to research the stuff, or have (or had) a roommate or parent/sibling that was big into disco.
No, for those who think we cannot bring back disco, it might never come back the way it was. For that matter, unless the lazy and dishonest radio stations stop filtering out the good stuff, all new music might just grind to a halt. Then all there will be that's worth listening to will be oldies that you can dig up from a download source or a record store. Disco included (for those who cannot or could not stand disco, there is also a ton of heavy metal music among another ton of country).

I'll bet the GB began all their policy meetings with "Love 'ta love 'ya baby" (long version) by Donna Summer.
After the movie Saturday Night Fever, disco swept through all the congs in our little town. Lot of dance parties at JW homes. I had a stack of 8 tracks in my car that I nearly wore out. Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Joe Tex, Commodores, what's her name "I will Survive"?, etc etc
The older elders were very pissed off about it. One said, "it's not right to get out there and shake your genitals at somebody elses wife"
