This is why I NEVER buy extended warranties.
When someone tries to sell me one I always say "why is it so crap you think it'll breakdown in a year?"

problems. The retailers hate the negative publicity.

I think small claims court might be your best bet. Companies like that don't care what you think of them. They care about the bottom line. The bottom line is it would cost them more to send a lawyer to small claims court to defend their dubious business practices than it would to settle with you. Also, if they don't show up, you automatically win, usually. Lots of times, just filing the papers is enough to get their attention and get them to honor the warranty. In the meantime you may have to buy a new computer though as claims can drag out for years before they get to court.

If the warranty hasn't expired then obviously they are in breach of contract if they refuse to honour it so you can sue them. What excuses do they give exactly?
You can also put them up on the internet publicise your experience on a few relevant forums and let everyone know how dishonest they are and how terrible their after sales service is. Do you think they also damaged your laptop when they had it?
