The WTS has GOT to be hemorrhaging badly. They MUST know about the inroads the Internet is making on their empire. I don't know how long they will be able to keep up the facade. They have lost whatever credibility they had in the past. They have pulled their last rabbit out of their hat. What is there left?

actually , there have been many changes in the last few years - going to DCs every two years would make sense.
Is it possible that they fear the protests outside the convention sites getting much larger and better organized?

Anyway, my very 1st DC was the very last 4 day one (that I know of). It was in 1993. When they said they would probably be 3 day ones from then on, people theorized this was somehow a "sign of the approaching end." Well, here we are, 13 years later, and the WT continues to revel in their smugness to try to hype people up about how "Jehovah's work is nearing completion."
It's pathetic how much JW's thrive on the bait that the governing body dangles out in front of them, just to give the appearance that they know something about "the ever-impending, any day now beginning of the end" that the common dub doesn't.

Of course it could simply mean that, regardless of whether the world has ended or not, there may not be a DC - wouldn't that be a cause for controversy among the rank and file!

Well the last time I heard that was about 2001 and he was right it WAS my last DC!
There is one way for this prophesy to be correct. If the Tower comes down before next summer, they will not have another DC then. That is our job: If we get the Watchtower Society to its demise, then this prophesy might just come true.

Right on! This reminds me: My very elderly grandfather - a Bible Student since the 1920s and then JW from 1931 onwards when they embraced that name - was absolutely convinced that the mid-1970s would see the end. Of course, he was absolutely correct: He died 1976.
