Thanks for the reminder to "bring up my concerns about the news arcticle" with my JW "study partners". I have done it once already with a pioneer/elder and his wife, they just looked at me blankly and had no idea what I was talking about. "We don't handle things that way anymore, how long ago were these abuse cases?" he asked, as if that was significant.

Hello folks. Thank you for all your replies on this. It really helps. And thanks for your kind words. Guest with Questions- Indeed the witnesses need to see that there are informed, educated non witnesses concerned about what their organization allows. Witnesses feel they have the market cornered on "percieved" truth. As you said I hope they have changed their tactic and let them talk to us more at the door. They are so uneducated on even their own policies,I relish the opportunity to rip them a good one and disprove what they believe. And I'll do it with respect and a smile on my face and they won't even realize they're being undressed mentally. Lonely Sheep- So true. Intuition, questioningthings, and education. All important. Jim_TX- Thanks! The elders wife said it occured in her family, but didn't say who it occured to. Hope she thinks on it! Mum- People's senses of justice are getting appalled by the jw's policies. It's time to speak up!! Rebirth- I know what you mean. I'm amazed they can tolerate themselves tolerating molestation coverups. They show haterd for children, not love! Vernon- Thanks! They were riveted! Sass my Frass- I hope the wife does research on this and thinks things over. Unique1- My motive was to make them think.Jw's are taught not to think but to, OBEY! Hoping 4 Change- It's that same alleged "humility" that keeps the governing body holding a secret database file of 27,000 known child molesters from being revealed to authorities! Don't think that's humility, it's called arrogance! Truthseeker- Most of these witnesses have not heard of these molestation settlements. That's why we have to blow trumpets, bang tambourines, or do anything to get it across to their members this happened! Thanks all, keep the thoughts comin', Peace, Mr. Flipper

Mr. Flipper,
Hello again! There is outrage, bitterness and an attitude of "enough is enough" among several JWs in the community. The issues discussed on JWD are not totally unknown by sincere but troubled JWs. They just don't see the whole picture. Some feel, though, that there is evil at the very top and what they see at the local level is a manifestation of corruption at headquarters.
We suffered a mass exodus from one congregation - flight, not fight. Most JWs won't fight what they understand to be Mother's directives and discipline. But they were so bewildered and stunned that they had no choice but to flee "Mommie Dearest."
Survival - but as refugees from what they had long perceived to be their safe haven, their spiritual paradise. How tragic.CoCo

Compound- Hi, again. It's so true that the evil starts at the top. Most of the rank and file members are'nt aware of this and those that suspect bad motives from the governing body are too scared out of their shorts to question it, because of fear of repercussions from others. Also my wife and I have talked about it, and some witnesses are fearful to question it, because it would leave them without answers to what life is about, their purpose for existing, and all other major issues in their life. To them believing in something, even if it's doubtful, is worth more than the scary thing of believing in nothing or not knowing what you believe in!! What a paradox to put oneself in

Flipper: Just a quick note. Going out in a bit but will be back later. Here are some sites regarding the sex abuse cases. I wonder if it would be a copy-right infringement if we put these addresses on, say a leaflet 4 x 6". I have no problem doing it it if anyone can give suggestions. I also think the simpler the better. I did start a leaflet a while back. It was more aimed at the general public but I could make changes. On the back I could put these sites and the people can go to these sites on their own. Thread is below if anyone can use it.

Very nice job. Somewhere in the recesses of the mind, as hard as they may wish to bury it, this info will surface from time to time.

Planting seeds of doubt are the best way to deal with dubs imo, it may take a while, but it's effective.
