Hi Greenmachine and welcom!
This, I believe, is where you will find the Society's quotes re Jesus being the mediator exclusively for the 144,000.

Had a quick read and looks very good. However, further to what agreemachine said, perhaps it would be more accurate to say "MOST Followers do not receive Holy Spirit" and "MOST Followers do not have Jesus as mediator".
The way you have written it suggests that NO JW's receive the HS or have Jesus as a mediator, when of course they believe that a remnant of them do.
Cheers
Yadda
Thanks for the suggestions, I will make the changes and update shortly.
I may remove the part about not receiving holy spirit as the doctrine is quite vague these days. I wonder if the WTS will change the thought about the Mediatorship as well.
i did a read of the shunning section and another point that you might want to bring up is the difference socially of disfellowshipping someone who has been raised a jw, works w/ jws and is told not to associate w/ worldly people, thus cutting off any type of socialization, usually at a time when the person may need it the most.
to contrast, someone who is converted to become a witness at age 30, gets baptized, and decides to give the jws the middle finger @ 32 will not have the same socialization consequences.
i did like that you focused on teens and you may have brought up the whole, 'us and them' attitude later, i just didn't have time to read that far tonite.
again, thanks.

I agree, mono...good points.
There is a world (no pun intended) of difference with someone leaving the truth/false if they were raised in it, having no social skills at all to deal with the REAL "world".....and someone who becomes one later in life, after having been allowed to go to the prom, go to college, be involved in sports, etc.
Wonderful JWfacts ,I've only recently realised you have a web site and I have bookmarked it for references, your hard work is appreciated.
About the R&F getting Holy Spirit...well I guess it's as vague as whether the elders are appointed by Holy Spirit(now that's a topic ,amongst others, I discussed with an elder at the door today)
Great point Mono,
Thanks Woza. The Watchtower is quite hedgy on that point, as there are endless examples of elders being chosen whilst sinning. However the official doctrine is an active involvment by holy spirit. See http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/holyspirit.htm
Thanks for the link, yesidid. I remember now a talk I heard several years ago. The speaker said the other sheep should not feel left out because the annointed are the only ones part of the covenant with Christ as mediator. He then stressed the importance of the field ministry for us "sheep". I can't believe I forgot that, but your link jogged my memory.
I will be checking out your link jwfacts concerning the Holy Spirit. Keep up the good work!

jwfacts...I am using your site as my signature on a couple of pro-JW boards.
Thanks!
