Mini, You might enjoy this story, I don't mind telling it. When I first became a witness early seventies, I was seen coming out of the corner bar, the kingdom hall in the middle of the block was not opened yet. I needed to use the rest room before the meeting. The brother who saw me come out of the bar told the elders. A meeting soon followed and they reproved me in front of the congregation because one brother saw me come out of the bar.
I had a few beers earlier in the day and they thought that I had them in the corner bar just before meeting time. You know what happens when you drink beer, you gotta pee! I was not drunk and did not have a beer in the corner bar.
Still they reproved me for coming to the meeting after having a few beers before the meeting and coming out of the corner bar in public view of the brother and who knows how many others saw me and did not tell.
That did not stop me from going and having a few beers after the meeting with the elders.
Btw I many times smelled wine on the breath of at least one elder who said that he cooked his dinner before the meeting with wine. And that's ok?!
Blueblades In those early days many drank alcoholat the local pub.after the meetings.
