i dont think you're nuts. even if this board is MUCH about the bad sides of the JWs there is still a good side (yes, really). and what you believe is up to you. so if you can live with the arguments against them and you know what youre doing its all fine. thats my believe.
Fading In? Am I nuts?

Be cautious, and as others have stated on other topics, try to use the Bible and refer to it more than the publications when commenting, or giving student talks, etc. And welcome to the board!!!

If you feel so inclined and you are not being coerced by anything or anyone to go back maybe you should. No you are not going nuts. You just might be on the wrong forum. I wouldn't give too much credence to most of the extremely exagerated criticisms and urban legends about the organization. There is a measure of truth to some of it but most has been bloated beyond recognition for personal reasons. Surfrusty

Only you know if your nuts.
Sure go back for there will be a place for you. Like GUMBY he has a purpose ,on his terms to a degree, to co-exist ,hell if you look at alot of witnesses they just lead a double life which is much the same I guess.
But there is very little for free in life ,what you go back into extracts a cost.

I felt that way when I first started to visit anti-JW sites. I still had my JW shields on. The years of indoctrination into believing that apostates were ALL liars had an effect on me. As time passed by, I came to see that most of the information was pretty accurate, although some people do post inaccurate statements (although people usually point them out pretty fast) and hold a serious grudge against the WT. All in all, there are more lies and exaggerations coming from the WT about apostates than there are lies and exaggerations coming from this forum about the WT.
As to the original question, do you what you feel is best. Other members have already made the points I wanted to make. You are wrong in thinking that you will be able to return to the WT on your own terms. You will be marginalized at best if you don't offer your full loyalty and obedience to the governing body and your local body of elders. Also, think about it, would anyone in the WT tell you to do whatever you think is best for yourself if you asked them whether you should return or not? I think that says a lot.

Do what you feel you must. Just remember that there are a lot of good and decent people outside the organization as well. I tried fading before, then went back for exactly the same reasons you did. Eventually it will catch up with you. All the doubts you had will still be there. It will become a chore simply going to meetings, let alone everything else they will expect you to do. I got to the point where I had to make a choice, I was either part of it or I wasn't.

Are these old friends that have tried over the years to keep contact with you?
Or did they drop you like a hot potatoe, but seeing you, they try to reactivate you? It's not WT doctrine that you are missing, it's the people. Alot of fundamentalist
churches will give you the same kind of friends, and many other worship places
will do it. I've never been there, but I imagine Secular Humanists or Alcoholics
Anonymous would provide an atmosphere close to instant friendship. You would
have to develop some trusth no matter where you go, especially at the Hall. -

If you have dependant kids, I hope you're cool with letting them be molested by the congregation pedophile or letting them bleed to death. We get the religion we deserve.
