"Please come back to the meetings! The friends and I miss you! Just imagine how we would feel if we were at the meeting and the brothers announced to us to not go back to our homes and that the Great Tribulation has begun?!
So everything would dissolve in 2 hours?
Not likely.
What about those who didn't have their meeting at the same time? They would be "at home" when the trib started, no?

What? is there like a special red tribulation phone at all the halls or something? Warning, warning, stay where you are! Do not leave the building, tribulation has begun!
They have to guilt trip you as they do not have critical thinking and cannot back up alot of their beliefs from the bible alone.
The concept of meetings and the Great Tribulation is bogus! That idea has been expressed by many JWs, the importance of being at the meetings and the possibility of them never going home again because of the Big A striking. That in itself shows how much they view meetings as the way to salvation.
I am happy for you that you have seen things in the Borg for what they are. The WTS has used fear to entice recruits and retain its members. Living in fear is no way to live. "A coward dies a thousand times....The valiant taste of death but once." Julius Ceaser, By W. Shakepeare.
As a Christian, I have learned that fear is actually a sin against God. The expression Have no Fear appears dozens of time in the new Testament alone, often from Christ himself. Love throws fear outside.
Do not be afraid, my friend. Live a life of your own purpose and do good to others. JW's merely hope to "survive." God wants us to LIVE! You are on the right road to choosing well.

She's an "ex" for a reason.
zack....you are absolutely correct. I've been living in the concept of actually LIVING lately and my life has much added meaning to it.
As far as the number change goes, i've thought about doing it...changning it and telling my family not to give it to ANYONE. I know how the JWs here are about trying to find out others numbers, and I don't want to put my family in any uncomfortable situations.

I remember the mother of a friend of mine who used to be constantly reminding us why we need to pay attention in the meetings because one day a brother may give you vital instructions regarding our "evacuation" when armageddon begins. If we didn't pay attention, we may miss these instructions and find ourselves some bird's (the feathered kind ) lunch.
Brinjen....
I know a sister that says all the time to her children, who aren't JWs, that they need to hurry up and accept the truth and start attending meetings, because the time will come when she will be at the meeting and the brothers will announce that the Great Tribulation has begun, and she and the rest of the congo will be led to their place of safety.
If that was the case, what about the nonJWs that attend the meetings? Would they be purposely left behind to become the appetizer to the birds?
