Yes it was Worldly Andre. Can you imagine that 17 men from one little backwoods county in Kentucky were all stationed on the same ship at the same time? My grandma said that would make a good story for a book or a movie.

    * For 16 continuous months she was in action in the forward areas of the Pacific combat zone, sometimes within 40 miles of the Japanese home islands. * Under air attack 59 times, she was never hit. * Her aircraft destroyed 1410 Japanese aircraft, only ESSEX exceeded this record. * Her air groups destroyed or damaged 1,269,710 tons of enemy shipping. * 10 HORNET pilots attained "Ace in a Day" status. * 30 of 42 VF-2 Hellcat pilots were aces. * 72 enemy aircraft shot down in one day. * 255 aircraft shot down in a month. * Supported nearly every Pacific amphibious landing after March 1944. * Scored the critical first hits in sinking the super battleship YAMATO. * In 1945 launched the first strikes against Tokyo since the 1942 Doolittle Raid. I found this on the Hornet Website!!! WOW

Here sending good vibes and best wishes to Junction Guy's uncle.......

I have known one or two old men on the fringe who resolutely refused blood despite the dire warnings of the doctors. It seemed to provide a test that they rose up to, rather than giving in.. They both recovered and...well...became stronger dubs as a result...

    Will do Dave.

In the meantime, is there any way his relatives can reason with him on this, the taking of blood in Bulgaria? Jesus healing on the Sabbath? Anything?

Junction-Guy, my heart is with you and your uncle and whole family on this.

Went through it twice with my mom.

May the frictions and flares subside so you can all focus on helping him toward health again, and open his eyes, too.

You are in a very good spot to steer his children toward the best health care, and I'm confident you'll inform them well.

Sending my thoughts and prayers for your uncle. Have you gone over the different fractions and procedures that jws do accept? Cell salvage and storage of blood during the operation which is shortly reinfused would both be helpful and are accepted by jws.
