I am going nuts! As many of you may remember I had a really bad hair cut and highlighting session that has kept me in misery for at least 60 days. I now have 2 inches of dishwater blond hair at the top, highly bleached blond in the middle, and that orangey gold at the base. (Am I ruined for life?)

I can't take it any more. Never in my life has my hair looked or felt like this. I don't know where to go or what to do.

I paid $120.00 to get it done this last time.....I feel like I need to shave my head and start over!

HELP!!!! How do you figure out where to go? Do I need to pay $200.00 to get it done right. No one I know is blond so don't tell me to ask friends.

Check out haircuts and dye jobs on the people around you. See a good one, ask where they get their hair done...hopefully they don't do it themselves.

I think you're right, r., just shave it all off. I didn't know about your "bad hair experience" but from what you describe here it sounds like the hair has been too damaged by all the processing. If that's the case at this point not even a great haircut would work.

If you don't like the way you look bald there are very real looking wigs ( a little on the expensive side) you can wear while your natural hair grows back.

Ask the next person you see with a really good hair style where they got it done.

yeah I agree w/the comments to ask someone with a good cut that lives around you...

Its a shame what happened to you .. but I am sure it can be fixed

Get a L'orelle (sp) hair colour package at the drug store. Get the colour one shade darker than the darkest colour on your head. It will give one consistant colour. This product will do no more damage and may even restore some damage done till it grows out enough to cut it all off. The kits sold in stores will cause less damage than most hair dressers and are a lot cheaper. The streaking kits are great! Wait till you have natural hair again before using a streaking kit ... best if you have a friend help too. Been there .. done that.

I'm blond, and my hairdresser makes a lot of money fixing other peoples dye jobs. Lots of variables with that bleach stuff.

If you don't want to spend the big bucks to have an expert try to fix it (they should be honest if they can or not), then a good short crop cut maybe.

But look for people that you like their hair and just ask them. I've found several that way and I've recommended also.

Why not just try getting a shorter hair cut and dying it a dark color. That might be worth a shot before you go all the way and shave it off.
