Seek out a person who's hair you really like. Ask her where she had it done and just go there.
Does anyone here know how to find a good hair dresser?

You could get some pictures of hair cuts that you like. Cut them out and take them to several shops and ask them can they do this to my hair and how much. After that your like everybody else, you pay your money and you take your chances. Your dilema sounds like it would have made a good Seinfield episode.

I tried to find the " post your picture" from me from Richie Rich's thread. That has always been my hair....Can't find it. I have always had beautiful hair. As a women we hold on to our best stuff....If someone can find it you'll see what I mean.

Here is the other deal.....Men know how to do what I want and women destroy it. Sorry to sound like I do but that is what I have experienced.
The men have both moved on to bigger cities and the women stay here and toast blond hair.....welcome to Orlando.

I don't have any ideas really on how to find one..except personal referrals and the like. I hope you got your money back if it sucked that bad!
I might make you feel a bit envious though, if you lived around me (and if you're in Florida, you live on the other side of the Country) I would have you get in touch with the woman who does mine. She just does it at her house, pretty much every single time it's been perfect highlights. I have really long hair, like mid back and I'm tall, and her "rate" is $25, no kidding. No matter what she does, even if she were to cut it, still $25. I always pay her more because I know what a discount I'm getting anyways. My Mom's hairdresser rocks too. I guess we're really lucky!
A botched bleach job is one of the toughest things to correct. Could you just cut off the part that's brassy and then get high and lowlights? -

It sounds like you aren't looking for a big change. I would suggest cutting off as much of the orangey gold as you can bear to part with so you only have two undesireable colors left to deal with. The hardest part would be the ultra bleached middle. It is going to be hard to get any color to stick to that. What I would suggest for that is to try to find a colored mousse or something called fanci-full rinse. It washes right out if you don't like the color and it's really easy to apply. Secondly, even if you pay $120 try to put black over bleached blond, it won't stick. It will fade right out. So I say try the easy $10 drug store remedy. (Its done the trick for me several times)
All the good hair dressers around here are JW's! (Seriously!) So I've got to find a new one myself.

Thanks for your replies...
Blond hair is hard to maintain the older you get we try to stay away from the orange, or bleached blond look.
But many "PROFESSIONALS" are willing and able to produce the worst possible results to make us look ridiculous.
The girl I paid $120.00 was actually an Iranian working here for years.....
NOW YOU TELL ME WHY THIS TURNED OUT SO BAD AFTER $120.00.00 PLUS THE TIP.
YEP, AN IRANIAN, WHO PROBABLY REALLY HATED NATURAL BLONDE'S.
I'M BEYOND ANGRY.

I quit!
Have you tried typing "repairing bleached hair" on google? you might find some help there. I have an Iranian friend who does hair but she in Irvine CA so I guess it wasn't her plus I hear she is very good. I wouldn't know personally, I pay $7.00 to have my hair cut.
