where will sexual offenders live?

    I am watching FOX news,

and I am sorry I do not have the details, but, in this particular county, they are extending how close a sex offender can live to a school, daycare, etc, from 1,000 feet to 2,000 feet.

Of course the people that the outer circle is being moved to do not want this. There are some that are fighting for the sex offenders, so that they can live with families etc etc.

The reporter said that at one time these people would have been put to death by society or the vicitimized family. And that there are consequences for raping a child and banishment is part of that.

The sex offenders rather stay in prison as some are living under bridges and it takes longer for them to get to sometimes needs healthcare.

I thought about this and I don't know why a person that rapes a child is ever allowed out of prison. It is an offense that is scarring for life. Someone that robs a bank is held in prison longer than a sex offender. Money is much easier replaced, but what rape does to the life of a child may never be recovered.

I do not feel safer knowing they are banned from a community at all. I dont feel like the welfare of my grand daughters safety is better because they live 2,000 feet away from a school or daycare.

When will society on a whole realize the damage sex abuse does?

My mother thinks Jehovah is going to put nuclear waste in a black hole. Maybe he can put sexual offenders there too!

have you ever looked at the number of sex offenders that live close to you?

I was amazed at how many live by me and how close.

I am not big fan of them living anywhere. The only way to be sure they will not re-offend is to turn them into fertilizer. I live 1/4 mile from where logging roads start and the power lines end. Less then a mile from my house is a halfway house for sex offenders. It seems that you cannot get away from them no matter where you try to live.

I check the registry every now and then just to see.

I agree with you. I've read many cases where the sex offender traveled many miles or attacked a child living in the same building. How can moving offenders a few more feet away from schools give a parent peace of mind? If it does then I think they have been led into a false sense of security.

I have looked at watchdog.com for the offenders in my area. Very disturbing is the fact that almost all are repeat offenders.

I live right in the middle of this map. The blue dots are level II and considered likely to re-offend and the reds are level III and have not received any treatment and are the highest risk considered most likely to re-offend.

In my mind, why should they live anywhere.. I say set them free in a big fenced in field.. set up your cross bow and practice your aim until its perfect
