Not really enough data to go on. We have more theists here than this, don't we? Or are those the ones refusing to take the test and having a moan because they think it's silly?

    My real score is 137.

Well, Serotonin_Wraith, that's what happens when you conduct as solidly a scientific study such as this. I think we see the problem. Everyone here is smart, AND pretty much every one is an atheist. Shall we reach a conclusion from this information?

I think you'd have to gather I.Q.s of believers on a different board almost ...

Why does everyone get so jumpy over these kinds of iq scores? Just about every online test I've seen has the disclaimer that the test is for "entertainment" purposes only. That's exactly what they should be. None of us need numbers to determine how smart we think someone is. Likewise, none of us should fear posting numbers for the hell of them.

Here's my hypothesis that would be an interesting test, methinks. I propose that every group of beliefs, whether it's atheists, theists, agnostics, etc. etc., has the tendency to believe deep down, whether they admit it or not, that their group is smarter than the other groups. The same type of thinking is easily observed in racial biases. What do you all think?

Thank you for your interest in the test at IQTest.com.

Your general IQ score is: 123

I never took one before. I thought I was stupider than that! lol

Still gives thanks daily, but not really directing the gratitude anywhere but up and out into the universe. I don't know what that makes me and I don't really don't care because it makes me grateful for being alive.

ROFLMAO! I am an atheist. I agree with what John Doe said. Every group always thinks they are the smartest. Didn't we all think we were so much smarter than everyone else when we were JW's? When I told my father I didn't want to be a witness anymore, he said, But I don't understand! You're so intelligent!" As if the two are mutually exclusive.

I also think childhood conditioning has a lot to do with beliefs. If we were born JW's and never exposed to another viewpoint, or had witheld all the information, how could we make an informed choice? If we were, by an accident of birth, born in a Muslim country, how many of us would be bowing towards Mecca today? If Darwin had never existed and other leading evolutionary biologists, is it possible many of us would still be believing in some sort of God? Let's not be arrogant and acknowledge that ALL of us, without exception, build on a foundation that was laid by many before us. We are not all born on a level playing field in physical/mental health, education, and opportunity.

My reply to 'cognizant dissident' implied that I also got 150, which was what I got. Sorry to those who couldn't read between the lines. (The lowest I've ever scored on any IQ test was 139, though I doubt their reliability.)

    Agnostic.

This isn't a solid test by any means, and I never claimed it as such. I've heard that out of the scientists studying biology, physics and chemistry, most are atheists. That was in a Richard Dawkins talk.

(Which can be found here if anyone's interested- http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/113 )

Many will see him as biased, so I thought I'd do a little experiment here. It's mostly for fun. Why not help us gather more data and add your score, instead of acting like a victim? Maybe a better conclusion can be reached. If there's no correlation between religious beliefs and intelligence, the results will show that. As I said before, there isn't enough data to go on at the moment. Or you could carry on moaning- up to you.
