I'm sick of groups
I admire the people that come here and stand up to be an individual.
There are so few that do not.
What percentage of people do you think stand up and be the unique, precious, individual that they truely are?

What made me post this
I was at the gas station this am......and there was a military guy there as well.
dressed in uniform, i come to work and we are a group, dressed in scrubs.
We are all in some kind of group,
excluding information from other groups,
I would like to say Thanks for us here that think deeply about life, are considerate of each other, caring, a take responsibility for themselves and the decisions they make.
I thik people are becoming more and more miserable for the conformity to the groups they belong to.
just my opinion

You know, I have been dealing with this subject a lot lately. I have always considered myself an individual. However I realized, I didn't know how to act like one. I have always acted in the way expected of me. I was a good JW in front of my parents. I was a double lifer to my friends. I put on a business persona when at work because it is what is expected. I found when I left the JW's I didn't know how to act anymore because I no longer had anyone expecting me to act a certain way.
I think leaving a group forces individuality in a way because it forces you to figure out who YOU are. Kudos.
great post unique1
so very true.
when left to be on your own two feet, you are forced to look within yourself and discover who you really are.

Want to be a true individual? Move to an island and become a hermit.

I try so hard to like you

Don't compare yourself to others...just do your thing.

I do not.
Yay for individuals.
I suggest reading Kafka's The Trial, an entertaining and poignant book. The price of living in a society is the imprisonment of the individual. The two forces are a contrast to each other, and for one to be present the other one must be suppressed.
