edited to add: OR, the children are coming to school with Ritalin to be able to sit quietly and not be disruptive. As long as they are quiet all is ok. No matter to wonder what is really going on in that little brain of theirs.

Compare this with the other claim that this is the intent of putting fluoride in water supplies.
I 've never researched this myself, but we have a very vocal individual in our area who managed to successfully make the general public so aware of the possibility that mass-fluoridation may be used to suppress the population, that our local water authority were unable to go ahead with fluoridation of the supply.
