Myself and a co-worker who is also an ex-dub (and I'm trying to get posting here) have been educating a few people at our workplace. Telling them about the shunning & blood policies mostly. There's a few more people who are going to asking some very difficult questions next time they get that knock at the door!
Declaring JW's a cult to co-workers

Once when talking to a co-worker about the mind control and cultish aspects of JW, he told me that years ago, when he was a child, an uncle joined the JW's and they didn't see or hear from him much after that. Later, they heard, that he married a JW sister, had some children, ...then they heard he left the religion and killed himself.
He said...the family had often wondered if it had anything to do with being a JW, but didn't know for sure.

I have anti-witnessed to just about everyone at work, whenever a new hire comes in I anti-witness to them too.
One of the newer guys I work with told my supervisor that I was the quite type, my supervisor told him to ask me about the JW's.
He did, and then went back to my supervisor and said "yeah he is quiet until the right subject pops up and then he will talk your ears off"
Several people at work jokingly call me the Apostate, and some have even volunteered to picket with me. Just about everyone has been supportive of me, except the agnostic woman, she hates to see the "little guy" (JW's) picked on, plus doesnt like fundamentalists, and will take the side of any religion so long as it isnt Baptist.
I have had alot of fun telling everyone there about the JW's. -

I remember doing that to one cashier where I work. This cashier was studying to be a Witless and had just starting attending the indoctrination/boasting sessions when I suggested looking at the apostate Web sites. And it worked. That blew that study, and now that cashier is going to continue enjoying the holidays and birthdays.

I have reported here on one co-worker who is a traveling representative. He has JW family and I have helped him
in an effort to resist. The rest of the co-workers, I am certain, will never be JW's.These are great stories from you all. Keep 'em coming.

I am lovingly referred to as "Apostate" by my workmates and "worldly" friends.
My kids, daughter - age 31 and son - age 26 and their friends call me that as well.
I love it !

Without batting an eye, I was able to answer, "I discovered that they were a mind-control
cult, and I managed to break free of their control."OnTheWayOut thank you for sharing, and echoing the strength of so many here who come to a point of true freedom.
Until I joined this forum, although I believed they were a cult, I was not able to say it out loud. For the first time last week, during a random discussion on religion I defined this religion as a cult. This person did not know of my previous involvement as it's something I seldom share with anyone. Their response though was "and you escaped", "what a strong woman you are".
I felt strong and also finally free, what a wonderful feeling!
Thank you again for sharing

LearningToFly, you made my day. No matter what the day brings, I will smile knowing you
were moved.although I believed they were a cult, I was not able to say it out loud.
People, no matter your situation- find someone to tell this to.
Faders need a friend. DF'ed ones or whoever, confide in someone.
If you have nobody else, post a thread here or PM somebody. You can lose your sanity if you keep your feelings all bottled up.
My co-workers are just trying to be helpful, so I decided to share with them.
You can find someone to share your feelings with. It is very liberating. -
