The fact that we are here indicates clearly to all that there must be a beginning. Everything has a beginning, like a tree or an invention. Anyone who is able to go further than that can only rely on faith. Unless you were there , where is the physical proof? That's why I have faith, but not religion. Alas I must bow to many here who clearly have either superior intelligence than I or some sort of "way back" machine to visit time long gone by. It seems those who jump on that bandwagon usually have some sort of motive, like the "Bushwhackers" in the Excited States. I accept Jesus as my personal savior, but not the hateful rhetoric of many evangelicals. It's unchristian to be so hateful. Or am I just an idiot? BTW, if you are wondering where hell is-try looking under your feet. WT the traveller.
What kind of positive proof would you need....

I am inclined to believe in God, a designer, giver of conciousness, I suspect that we are part of that conciousness having a material, human experience. I dont think that up till this time in recorded history there has been any kind of reliable credible proof given.

Direct and clear communication with his inteligent creation. No tests, riddles, mysteries, etc. I know to some, that may lack humility on my part, but that is how I have felt for some time.
I agree watson. It would have to be a damn loud voice booming, so that everyone around could HEAR it, not just me, and perhaps a large visual sign in the sky that the whole hemisphere could see. But by then, it will supposedly be too damn late.. Isn't it lovely how god is such a bastard that he will wait until he comes to destroy everyone before showing proof of himself. ''Sorry, you needed faith'', oh f*ck me!

It would be near impossible for me... miracles? Hell we make our own miracles now. It is called science.
He could come talk to me or engage in a panel discussion... but then how would I know if it were real or some virtual reality prank?
It could not be proven to me... I dont think.

Guest with Questions
If I build a man of play doe, will he die for my sins? No, of course not. That's why I don't believe in Christianity.
John Doe: As LT would say, this is inane drivel. What sweetstuff stated was a scientific fact, what you stated was utter nonsense.
Hell we make our own miracles now. It is called science.
IP_SEC: Where did science came from?

Guest with questions, your reading comprehension appears to be lacking. Go back and reread the conversation and then get back here and respond with something specific instead of name calling--not that I mind name calling, but you fail to make a valid claim. What I was addressing was by no means "scientific fact."

Let's see. If something or someone would try to prove to me that they are the all knowing creator of the universe that entity would have to prove that they know every thing. If an entity would just show me it knows more then me then that's not enough to prove it knows every thing. So to prove it knows every thing and not just that it knows more then me I would have to know every thing also to make sure it's not b.s.ing me.

The same order of proof I have for my chickens.
I do not get the 'I have proof in prayer' thing. Why do people who say this not realise that Odin, Thor, Zeus, Zoraster, Mithras, Baal, Baron Samedi, and a host of other supposed divine entities have proved themselves to their followers in prayer or the equivalent thereof. Or at least their followers thought they did...
