Having a gun pulled on me whilst in Field Service

How did you feel after that? ...about the d2d work?

first time i was staring down the barrel of a gun.

So somone pulled one on you?

Oh baby, it's OK...It won't be an issue on our dates

Glad to hear ..and snowbird, i had a similar experience while out in the door to door work with my dad. I think that too happened when I was 8. We came to a house that had about 5 or 6 rotweilers and pit bulls. They surrounded us while we were on a porch. Dad told me not to run but the first thing I did was run when I got the chance. Got chased down like criminal but I made it to the car quick enough. I don't think i've run any faster than that ever in life.

You too? The gal, yes I said a gal (whilst I too was out in field service), that pulled that rabbit out the hat didn't just pull out a gun, it was 12 gauge shotgun. But that wasn't my scariest, not even close.

I KNOW I haven't. The whole community denounced the boy's actions, however. That made me feel somewhat better.

I fell overboard in the molokai channel, didn't know how to swim, saved myself, went home and learned how to swim
my husband put his hands around my neck and squeezed. I said "knock it off." He squeezed harder and I realized he really meant to kill me.

I'm so sorry to hear about that!

It was the birth of my daughter. We had planned her.. I did everything right.. on day two of labour, an xray was done, finding my sweet baby was brow presentation.. and the cord was wrapped around her neck twice. In my small town with only one surgeon, and on the thanksgiving day weekend with everyone off, I was told when the surgeon finally arrived shortly before her cesarean birth at 2:10 thursday morning that I had to be put out immediatley.. with no time to ponder.. and have an emergency cesarean done. All I remember is, my ex standing in his gown and mask beside me, the docs all around me.. and the mask put over me to put me out.

I awoke, looking at my sweet daughter.. so life went on.. but I have never experienced such panic before or since then. Although there have been many scary experiences, this was the worst!

Staying in a caravan when a tree branch fell on it... It was a huuge branch, took a 30 foot crane to remove it! Luckily the branch fell on the corner of the van near the a-frame, the strongest point.

I honestly can't remember ever being terrified in my life. I've been scared or apprehensive in the abstract sense, but nothing major.

Being on an aeroplane that was hijacked by the PLO and watching them shoot a young man in the head, then wondering if I was going next.

    Or.

Getting stuck in an elevator for two hours with a taxi driver who thought that I secretly spoke Hindi and was just playing hard to get. Imagine three weeks of after shave poured onto a body which has seen no water but only night shifts, and that in a heat like a sauna. Bring back the PLO.
