How has it worked out for Jah?

Recently, I have been very retrospective about myself and how I do things. What led me to this forum was a search to find what went wrong with me and the witness religion. Since then I have used intense study and research to find the why's and how's of my failures in life(be it religious, love or friendships.) I feel I now understand what was lacking in my initial training and beliefs.

That has led me to ask the title question. We as humans (for the most part) learn from our mistakes. When faced with numerous failure's in his work edison is alleged to say 'I have not failed 100 times I have discovered 100 ways it will not work' (forgive the loose quotation its late.) Failure is our means to grow, learn and improve. SO how does God deal with his failure?

Now I would like to make clear that I do not mean to offend anyones beliefs. But, if you look at the biblical history of God and his dealings with man kind it is basically one failure after another. He has destroyed the entire world(in the form of a deluge.) Several cities (sodom and gomorrah, jeruselem twice, jerico and others.) Also he has wiped out entire tribes of people. But still the same problems exist that caused his wraith on all of those occasion's. Logic would dictate that obviously his methods of dealing with problems (usually killing or threatning to kill someone) are not effective.

As we all know, the witnesses are eagerly awaiting JAH! to continue on his failed course and destroy all those on the earth today, who are not doing his will(read all non witnesses.) If he created us in his image and all of our qualities are a reflection of him...why doesn't he learn from his mistakes?

Has God really made mistakes or have we placed him in a box and imagined him to be like us? What do we really know about the true nature of God?

We need to look closer for God , not outside ourselves. He is not a tribal deity that is vengeful and malicious.

So, does that mean that god is not in the bible?

G'day Almighty Ruler and Creator of All Things Living and Dead,we were just wondering how You're doing today.

    Amen,
    Myra & Djoek

    Myra & Djoek,

That's a very thoughtful and sensitive question. Hmm, how am I doing? OK Djoek and Myra, I'll tell you how I'm doing. I am trying to be God over a planet that I hope to one day make entirely Christian.... AND I'M TOTALLY FLIPPING MY LID! IT'S COMPLETE MADNESS DOWN THERE!

No one really believes in Me! I am God over this whole empty universe and you guys are the closest I've gotten to totally Christian! It's appalling! Have you switched through the stations lately? Have you browsed over a magazine stand in the last 20 years? How 'bout this Djoek, have you looked in the mirror lately?!?!

It's like I to have to wipe out a whole nother race... again! First with the dinosaurs! You've no idea how far those things were from loving Me! Have you ever tried cuddling up to a crocodile? It's not exactly a prescription for the blues.

So then I made cavemen. Christ! Could they kill a mood! And those slopeheads were worshipping everything BUT Me! The sun, rocks, fireflies! Yeah that's right, FIREFLIES! I created the human soul and these knuckle-draggers bowed down to bat food! I tell ya, it was a joy squashing them under My thumb!

Oh, and then I made Adam and Eve! Those bastards sold me out for an APPLE! Goddamned PRODUCE is all they needed to stab a knife in the back of their Master! And then their kids start murdering each other?!?! Fucking MURDER! Can you believe it? And I was hardly a generation into the race! I waited too goddamned long to drown that big mistake.

OK, so after the flood I'm thinking that it couldn't get any worse. So you know what you folks did? YOU EXECUTED MY SON! HA! YEAH, I KNOW! I mean what the?!?! I was utterly speechless!

And now there's you guys. You with your adult oriented entertainment, walk-man radio playin', cockfights, road rage, half T-shirt contests and pimp daddies. It's hopeless. I guess that I just don't have the knack for building a fan base.

So yeah, I'm doing peachy keen. Thanks for askin'.

    Love, God

I think a lot of whats in the bible is written with two points of view, for example there were two tribes of Hebrews, the north and the east (think that is correct) they both hated one another, though they both worshiped Yahweh. So having similar stories but different results at times, the bible does contradict itself.

I think mankind made religion to protect itself, the Gods of the bible are numerous, and always challenging the Hebrew God Yahweh or vice versa, look at Pharoah and the plagues ect.

God is a creator not a fighter, he fought for the Isrealites to show he was with them because that is what they wanted. This ongoing battle between good and evil will soon end. The biggest problem the Isrealites had was trying to understand why bad things happen to good people and why good things happened to bad people. They continually put their own standards up and failed to understand or listen to what God said and why these things occured. They continually failed. God allowed the Hebrews all their religion and failings, even to have a king sit on a thrown to represent him. That failed.

We as humans need to attain the oneness Jesus talked about, the simplicity of the spiritual oneness.I simply think that God allowed all this to happen in the hope that our free will and spiritual mind will be used to return to him, through the teachings of Jesus. Love and obedience to the law of Love thats it.

Mankind have to learn and grow, when religion is no longer (hopefully that will be soon) and people start to try and live the spiritual life Jesus preached the Godly law of love for him and one another, only then will we know the mind of God.

    Eclipse,

The God in the Bible is one seen through the eyes and misconceptions of man. Just the contrast between the old and new testaments shows this vividly.

Do you think the people back then understood the nature of God any better than we do? They were trying to make sense of the world and all it's suffering the same way we ae today.

    Exactly my point.

Is the bible God's word to man?

If you say, 'yes', then tell me why it is inaccurate and contradictory?

If you say, 'no', then tell me, how do you know what god is or isn't?

Take away all of the holy books, and what is left? Our own speculations and wonderings.

That is all mankind's writings are, because there is no communication.

Eventually humans will also have to do their part in helping themselves out. If they can't under the present circumstances, it will happen when the Christ returns and takes over this world and imposes a new style and culture of government that will at last move things in the right direction.
