Good post Frosty. I see the Bible as God's unauthorised biography, but that the biographers have insisted that it is the authorised biography. They have done this knowing full well that He won't take them to task over it.

Good post, eclipse. Now go a bit further - take away all speculations and wondering and see what's left. What lies beneath and beyond the mind? Perhaps a truth exists there worth discovering.
Eclipse,
The Bible was not written by God, but by man. The only way to try and understand God is to look at the creation, the natural world around us. I get much more out of an afternoon spent in the woods than a meeting discussing the Bible or discussing the doctrinal questions that most religions are hung up on.
The other way to move closer towards God is to look inward. His nature is in us also. We intrinsically know beauty, love, kindness, etc. No one needs to tell us to be in awe of a sunset or starry sky. I don't pretend to know anything special about God. But I can feel and see his fingerprint all around me.
This is enough for me right now.
I understand that, choosing life...
I feel that too, but I am left to wonder, WHY do I feel that way?
Is it because I was raised with god in my mind from childhood, so I take it for granted that there should be a creator?
So that I take those feelings and think, ''that's god''.?
But what if I was raised with no knowledge of ''god'' at all....not even a whisper of worship of anything...
What would I attribute those feelings to? Would I even have those feelings in the first place?
Like Poppers said, when you take away the wondering and speculation what is there?
I do respect your feelings, choosing life, and I think they are pleasant and good...
I want the reality of god, I can't rely on my feelings alone. they aren't enough for me. (maybe I am just greedy)
Frosty, you do realize that at The Big One he is supposed to get rid of mans sinful nature, which he did not do at all the oher whackings. Then all will be well.

Ness- I thank you and look forward to your response...especially now that I know what polemic means.
Polemics (pronounced /p?'l?m?ks, po?-/) is the practice of disputing or controverting religious, philosophical, or political matters. As such, a polemic text on a topic is often written specifically to dispute or refute a topic that is widely viewed to be beyond reproach.
