  Restrangled, dude. We feel your pain. Just the other day on Walker, Texas Ranger, there was this poor man who was trying to get his 19-20ish year old daughter to see the light and leave a cult she had joined, the leader of which had made a number of babies among the other young ladies there. It was only when Assistant District Attorney Alex Cahill was captured by these loons and held against her will and threatened with bodily harm that the daughter came to her senses, as she was angered by seeing an innocent person harmed, only then did she desire to leave.

  My point is, this sex-assault settlement is the best thing to happen since 1976 rolled around!!! You're on the right track, perhaps patience will rule for us all in the years to come. This won't be the only settlement that the Hohos have to pay, you'll see.

  Oh Restrangled. I can only imagine. I know my brother won't even let me go into any topic about anything even remotely close to logic about the WTBTS. It is insane. He is such a logical thinker on everything else...but will not even open a book, web page anything to even see if he has the right story. He is the most analytical and critical thinker I know...but not on this. I have no clue if he has even seen it.

  It is very frusterating. If we let it be.

  R - Your mom has 'bought into' this religion, both literally and fundamentally. The literal portion of her investment is both a significant indicator of her acceptance, and a 'tie that binds' her heart to continued acceptance.

  Her arguments are diffused by reality - but her reality is distorted and she can't see thru that distortion at the moment.

  It is not an easy road - to convince a dyed in the wool cult member that they are a dyed in the wool cult member.

  Peace to you. Other issues will come down the pike -and she may see thru them on her own in time.

  That was a lot of money to donate to the WTS if only she realised that they are an elaborate hoax and their real objectives are nothing like they claim. They will use that money for the preaching work alright.

  At least your mother still speaks to you. From a past post, you seem to have a fairly relaxed relationship, given that she is a hardcore dub.

  It is impossible to change someone else. The only attitude you get to be in charge of is your own. It's hard, but best to let it go.

  Here's my prescription: Take a relaxing aromatherapy bath, light some candles, put on some calming music, pour yourself a glass of good wine, and enjoy. Just remember not to drown in the bathtub.

  Would you become angry with a person in a coma for not being able to understand something you shared with them from the local paper that interested you?

  Your mom is, presently, "flatlined."

  I'd like to congratulate you on your courage on trying to awaken your mother, the ever present we are in a faith that is true and pure mind set that is implemented into the witnesses

  and that all other religions are corrupt and evil. The fact is they are like the others and have the same problem and that is wolfs corralling with the so called sheep looking for prey.

  The JWS brought this on themselves with their two witness policy for acts like this, like pedophiles go looking for an audience before the attack, really.

  Your mothers response was what you would expect from someone who is fully indoctrinated, you shouldn't be all too surprised by that, but at least you offered

  her something to mull over for a few days so it was certainly worth it from my viewpoint.

  Keep chipping at the tower and tower will soon collapse, but be patient and compassionate in your approach ......good luck
