Interesting to see the 'natural Godly Justice' of this scripture in that it is the violated, abused 'kept' young man that is the out cast and not the ones who enslaved him!

God is Great in his wisdom and justice .....or maybe not!

Perhaps this 'attitude' explains why the bOrg is willing to protect and even pay out to protect child abusers and yet disfellowship people who claim to have been victims!

Does anyone need or want a God like Jehovah?

As ever this topic is fraught with cultural misunderstandings.

The "catamite" is not necessarily a victim; the love/sex relationship is usually a social promotion to the younger partner; think of David (the beloved) accessing Saul's court on account of his beauty. In Greece the concept of education (paideia) is closely connected to the relationship: many Athenian boys dreamt of becoming Socrates' lover.

Narkissos - Point taken, however, there is still no condemnation for the USERS of the 'men kept for unnatural purposes'.

Yes there is, those are the arsenokoitai mentioned just after the malakoi in 1 Corinthians 6,9.

    Good point, Nark.

Paul found all the homosexuals equally disgusting and perverted.

Probably, although the setting (a typical "vice catalog" listing the "sins of the Gentiles" in a rather stereotyped way, a topos of contemporary Jewish literature -- Romans 1, 1 Corinthiens 6, Galatians 5, etc.) somewhat moderates the import of every particular item. Paul doesn't single out homosexuals from the rest of "pagan sinners".

If you're really 107 y.o. the chastisement (?) definitely doesn't belong to (heterosexual) paideia...

    Sex Slaves???

Yes, please. Two, if it isn't too much of a bother. Perhaps I should specify gender and general attractiveness ... which columns do I use on the order form, Eff?

I'm pretty sure it describes the men some women hide [and thereby 'keep'] in the closet when their husband comes home. It's 'against the nature' of the woman's marriage.
