When I was very young I used to sleep walk sometimes. I was always talking in my sleep and got embarrassed after being told so I started putting tape over my mouth when I went to bed so that I couldn't say anything. More recently my husband woke me up during the night because I was out of bed, round his side trying to find something. He spoke to me and it half woke me up because I told him to be quiet and got back into bed. I don't know what I was trying to find though!

One time the hubby told me that when he came to bed I grabbed his wrist and started taking his pulse . I'm know for talking in my sleep, so I try not to do anything that could get me in trouble

Ever have this happen to you? While wide awake...just a flash of a memory...nothing you can grab hold of... barely a hint... of a dream or something that happened? Never really figure it out I get that every once in a while when I'm overtired.

Two years ago, I had a dream that I was taking a cake out of the oven and the oven mitts caught on fire. I kept shaking my hands trying to get the gloves off.

I woke up...and my hand really hurt where they were burned in my dream/

I got up and ran cold water on my hands.

Three days later, we had a grease fire and both my hands were really burned.

Thanks for all your replies. very interesting dreams you folks have had !

SERENDIPITY- So you seem to have a hidden fear of natural disasters . That's interesting, at least you don't live in California where there are more earthquakes. But there are probably lots of tornadoes in Texas, eh?

TIJKMO- Gosh, I know what you mean about practicing talks in your sleep. When I gave talks I practiced them so much I could have done them in my sleep !

MADDIE- That is funny. You have actually taped your mouth ? I hope your husband doesn't put tape on your mouth when you try to talk to him in your sleep ! LOL!

EX-NJ-JW- Did you feel a pulse or heartbeat when sleepwalking taking your husband's pulse ? Yeah, I always get nervous if I have talked in my sleep, hoping I wasn't talking about an old girlfriend or something !

COFFEE BLACK- I have had flashes of memory of a dream while concsious. Kind of like dejavu. Also when driving real tired at night when I do my janitorial business, sometimes I'm so tired in the midst of driving down the road, I briefly forget where I'm driving, becoming disoriented. Like amnesia! Weird ! And dangerous .

LISA VEGAS- That is downright creepy when you dream something and soon after it comes true ! Are you part psychic? Hope you were able to heal up o.k. from your burns. Sorry to hear that happened

Most of my dreams are a result of my breathing passages being blocked. My throat or whatever closes- I stop breathing, and the brain makes up something awful to wake me up to start breathing.

Most of the trouble was remedied by making the headside of my bed about 4 inches higher than the foot. I also sleep with a medium size pillow between my knees. That seemed to have cleaned up everything. Sleeping pattern is normal now.

I posted this in another thread earlier this year :

I have been widowed twice, once at 28 and again at 41...

Since that time I had vivid dreams of both Husbands.

My first Husband, started out with me looking for him, everywhere. I remember being in a room full of phone books, stacked from floor to ceiling. I sat among them, going through them one by one. Other times people would tell me they saw him somewhere, and by the time I would arrive he would have just left.

Over time I would arrive just in time to see him getting in a vehicle and leaving. I was never able to catch up. This progressed to where He would respond to my calling for him.. by turning and smiling at me.

This went on for a period of years, off and on. It came to the point that I would receive phone calls telling me he would be such and such and for me to be there. I never knew who it was on the phone, I would go and wait for him. He would arrive, but never speak to me, just smile. There was always other people around.

Again over time, we were finally in the same place, sitting at a table outside, like an outside cafe. We finally talk, he tells me he has met someone and that he is happy. I also tell him the same. We part friends. And the dreams end for good. This took place over a period of 15 years. It's been 9 years since the last one.

My Second Husband (a JW) is always in a Suit. Usually we are in line at a cafeteria (school lunch style) he never speaks to me, just nods and smiles. Sometimes I am standing right behind him..but, I am afraid to touch him.. It goes thru my mind that maybe he is not real.

I have this dream off and on for a couple years...more or less the same. Finally we met in a public place and he tells me that he has met someone and that he is Happy. I wish him well and we part friends. This took place over a period of around 6 years. It has been 4 years since the last one.

I never tried to touch either of them... it seemed off limits. These were VERY vivid dreams.

I have never dreamed of thier actual deaths, one a violent death, the other sudden physical illness.

I don't know what any of this means, just my personal experiance. I feel that it's just the minds way of coping with emotions and helping the innerself come to terms with the traumas of both situations.

I do have to say, it seemed really odd, the way they progressed...always moving forward, until resolved. I also think it odd that they both told me the same thing !!

I used to talk in my sleep, sleep walk and dream of snakes, when I was a witness.

Now, I understand I dream but rarely recall them.

A while back, 10 years ago. I was reading a book about increasing my esp, and was reading about having an out of bodie experience. So I was practicing for it. The preliminary practice was to keep a dream diary. Once you start keeping a dream diary, you start remembering your dreams and mine were in technicolor and I was flying and they were surreal like a Salvador Dalli painting. I decided to curtail my esp abilities and went back to having restful nights sleep and not remembering my dreams.

    Greetings, Mr. and Mrs. Flipper!

I hope that all's well for you. I just returned from an overseas International District Convention at 7:30 this morning, delivered right to my bed by bus. It was full of my dearest friends of 30 years. There were heartwarming experiences aplenty, to be sure. One involved a Russian brother speaking to another brother who didn't speak his language. Yet he, and all we JWs listening in, fully "understood" the words of that dear Russian brother; tears were streaming down our faces.

The "pure" language, to be sure!

[p.s., Mr. Flipper: I notice on all your posts the "widescreen" format that requires scrolling back and forth - what causes that? All answers from other posters come across normal. If you've already dealt with this ?, no need to trouble with my query. Thanx!]
