I think they just changed it. Went from preaching about and believing in the end, to controlling those in the flock and making sure none of them doubt.

They are so busy concentrating on the next life in the alleged " paradise " they have no time to really enjoy this life or even take stock of what living day to day is. Maybe their new version of old light with the welcoming new ones as having the " annointed hope " will give them something to latch onto ! LOL! Or if everyone of them partakes, maybe they will all be raptured off to heaven ! Who really knows ? But I totally agree with you Minimus, they really don't know either ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

    Dawg,

I'd tilt a shot back with you anyday. (<--- closest thing to a shot glass in the emoticons window)

And if it was a shot of Jamesson and Bailey's Irish Creme dropped in a Guinness, you could put me down for three of four ... or six.

Minimus, you are right. They have no purpose anymore, other than to justify their own existence through rote works whose significance they no longer comprehend.

    Respectfully,
    AuldSoul

I cant see how a young person, under 30 could become a witness with computers and free access of information.

Someone 50 and older who is a witness is just plain stupid. They got a flat line on the brain activity. They probably have some form of alzhimers with about a 2 week memory.

I have no comment on people 40-45.

When I was a witness armegedon was coming and we were going to live in the new world.

But once they proved themselves to be so colossally wrong about being gods spokesman and prophet their chains of bondage fell off me. 1975 was a blessing in my life.

The good ol' days of the society was the late 60s and early 70s. Those days are gone. The framework of beliefs are gone. The zeal is gone. Those still in are just going through the motions.

I remember when I was first in, I thought my purpose in life was to gather the "lost sheep" and get them in so they too could be saved. After a while, I saw that I was just going in circles. It was the same people all the time, and I could honestly say that I did not give a fxxx if any of them, or none of them, made it in. That meant that the purpose was dead.

Toward the end, I would live for those snafus that resulted in wasted time. I liked those coffee breaks that dragged on, errands that had no end, fogging up the windows when I was alone in the car in the rain and everyone else had calls, or dogging it on those drive-bys and street work. I purposely let people get away that I should have been able to hit. I would cheer on the bus to move faster when we were doing bus stops so everyone would be gone. And those endless disorganizations, like slow egress from the Kingdumb Hell, people forgetting one thing after another, and those famous Big Mac attacks.

Now I have every intention on helping ruin the Watchtower Society. I would rather live a few years and die, knowing I had a share in ruining the Watchtower Society than living forever in a stagnant, new world. For sure, they no longer have me as a friend to that organization.

I think the golden years for the Society were late 50's through to 1975.

Those massive conventions with 250,000 people in NY, growth rates at 10-15% per annum and Armageddon had a date.

Downhill from there - they've lost the magic a long time ago.
