Rosalee sounds very much like my wife. Although most people would agree with the opening post, she feels that she must make an argument in defence of her brothers. No matter how wrong they may be, loyal JW's will still try to make a defence. It's like banging your head off a brick wall with them. Why bother?
What the hell is the MATTER with these people?

I told her she needed to go get in her car and wait for her mom to come back it was too dangerous for her to be out there alone she could get hit by a car. I watched and made sure she did before I left.
(I didn't mention that she could get abducted why freak the kid out?)
She hadn't "wandered off" she had a big handful of tracts and was clearly doing her half of the lot or however they broke it up.
I told a friend who's a MS in the hall that I think they go to and he was just disgusted he wasn't surprised though. HE said this is a problem with the black brothers and sisters it's like they don't get that there is a danger. I don't know about all that, that's what he said and he's been a MS in a predominantly black hall for about 10 years so maybe he knows. He said that it's a terrible witness and they get calls and letters about this pretty regularly and they have a local needs part about every six months but they just don't seem to understand that there's a danger. Until one of the kids gets raped or killed or even just hit by a car they won't stop I guess...

I was absolutely flabbergasted yesterday morning. I had the same experience. I was off to get my coffee at six in the morning. It was pitch black outside and raining on top of that. I stopped to lean near a bus stop cuz of my back and a black guy came up to me to offer me magazine. My first impression is the guy is off his rocker. I told him, I can't beleive you are doing this in the dark and rain. To tell you the truth, I don't know why but my first reactive mode of thought was to slug him, but I didn't. I told him I was a witness for many years and was treated cruelly by them. I told him that He should do himself a favour and look up Jehovahs witnesses on the net, and that he would clearly see that they are a cult. He pretty much ignored me after that and walked away. If you don't want to listen chump, then go right ahead and spend your Saturday mornings in the rain and dark, making the watchtower rich.
Sometimes I get the feeling the org. must be pushing folks really hard these days turning people into fanatics.

I've got to sit here and hit refresh so that i can respond. This thread is moving so fast! That's a first for me!
Yes if it was an adult that had approached me in the dark I would have been very very defensive I mean it's a pretty bad neighborhood to begin with that's why I was so freaked out about this kid!
Nut yeah to approach someone in the dark like that in this day and age is a good way to get in a world of hurt. Nothing about them specifically but this is a dangerous hood in the middle of the night you DON'T just start walking up to strangers!

I just got back from going to the grocery store. I watched adults with their kids going in and out.....Either the kids hands were on the karts as the parents pushed them or holding adults hand.
But, oddly, I remembered a special needs talk at the Kingdom Hall, had to be at least 20 years ago. A sweet older couple came from the back of the hall one on crutches and the other with a head wrapped in guaze. They were "play" interviewed. Asked how they got hurt. It was from kids running around in the parking lot, they got knocked down. We were getting counselled on letting our kids run loose in the hall and the parking lot. I took it a bit personally as I had five kids that were always running about, but this hall had alot of kids in it, so I knew it was not just directed towards me.
So the interview was over and then the brother went to give the talk. We were in a humorous mood as we knew it was absurd that one of the kids could knock over brother or sister Hurt. Then the speaker tells of a child that got hit by a car in the KH parking lot. We all perked up, and then the brother tells us the child died. This happened in Memphis, if anyone from that area posts and knows anything about it.
Who would have ever thought a kid could get run over by a car and killed in a KH parking lot?
