Maji: The time has come dude...NOW. Just STOP before you are in the Guiness Record Book for longest FADER! Faders sometimes cherry pick meeting they still whine at, and some even the 2 hours a month in service.......but it was supposed to get you to the end you know 1914! But you went right on through it and now need to do something.....what in the would is holding you back? I guess I unintentionally faded then dropped out. I was irregular at meetings because of circumstances and I hated going out in service so I was barely reporting an hour or two a month and then I just stopped completely. But there was no strategy involved. I was very guilt ridden for missing meetings. It was purely circumstancial. Once I realized that I had lost all faith in a man made organization, I didn't go back. I guess I had an epiphany. I would never be able to go back to a meeting now.

Here's a funny...My X HUSBAND was DF. (adultury) Another sister went and told the elders I was a STRIPPER. OH my goodness to my suprise...She was DF soon afterwards. No one would speak to me. I never knew what happened till my children told me what I was accused of what I was doing. I was so hurt by such horrid gossip. I guess I should be Flattered in a way to think a 47 year old woman that is overweight could make money that way. I fell away because I was abandoned. I was so hurt. What else can I say

Just for the record, a fade is when a person gradually cuts back in their activity in the ministry. Start missing a few meetings, cut back on field circus, and gradually increase the missed meetings. Service goes down. Often, they fake their time. Eventually, they stop going to meetings altogether.
If a person stops cold turkey, that is not the same as a fade. However, it has the same effect. You will become inactive if you go 6 months without any reported service activity. The problem with cold turkey is Brother Hounder is likely to make a stop at your house. A fade involves slowly tapering, and is less likely to arouse Brother Hounder's suspicions.
Each approach has its advantages. Fading means less chance of getting hounded and wastes more of their time to figure out what you are going to do next, but it means having to go to some wastefests and at least faking a few hours of field circus a month. Cold turkey means not having to fake field circus and no more going to meetings, but Brother Hounder is likely to show up sooner or later and get things done in one setting.
Of course, if you want to make the clean break, the Disassociation is for you. That allows a quick exit and bypasses Brother Hounder, but you will be shunned by family that is in. Plus it doesn't allow you to waste their time playing games and making them worry about which meeting you will be at and which you will not.
