To me it was an over exaggeration of how Witnesses would react! Brenda has always been one to show little taste when it comes to exposing the beliefs of the Watchtower. And this lastest video only proves that point.

It's a pretty decent video, but it shows little objectivity. My experience has been that the JWs are far more diplomatic when going from door to door. Plus, the JW woman was EXTREMELY crazy looking and her acting was so bad it HAD to have been that way on purpose. Nevertheless, it brings up valid points.

I agree with kerj. Brenda's videos always grate on me. They're almost embarrassing and probably do more harm in exposing the Watchtower than good. A JW would watch this, see how unrealistic the depictions of JWs are, and not give it any more thought.

YUCK! Good points but they were not made well at all. I agree the woman's acting was obnoxious, and the whole thing was so overexaggerted that no one will take it seriously.

I agree there, but notice that Brenda is calm, and gets to the point in a relaxed way. Yes, it is over-reacting on the part of the woman witness, and if it were me, I would probably have made her "more serious".

However, I feel that Brenda likes to put a little comedy into her videos, to make it more interesting, but she still does come across with what she needs to say about the door to door work.

I feel the video is very good, in that respect. Covering the shunning issue is what her life is all about. If you read her book, you'll see why she covers the shunning subject so well. Her Mom, Dad, and brother haven't spoken to her for 25 years, and I believe have never even seen their grandson.

This is true, but I think Brenda knows that a jw will not even look at the video, let alone be converted out of the W.T. from it. To me, the way it is put out, it seems to be geared towards the ex-jw, and not people that are in or are studying with the Tower. She may want to have that audience, but she'll have to put an "all serious" re-make of this video to gain that market. But, for myself, I love the video, and the wife loved it, too. I think that if she changed the womans "personality", she will get more of an audience, and perhaps make some "on the fence" j.w.'s do some serious thinking.

Sorry, Brenda, I just want to give my honest opinion.

On the plus side, there are a lot of good points that she made in this video, and to me, it is well worth the effort, anyway.

edited to add: Maybe this is her way of "venting". We all do it. I'm sure she is hurt that her son is never able to know his grandma.

The video- a bit long winded but seems accurate from what everyone here has told me.

I think most of us who have been ex-JW's for a while know it's next to impossible to get through to a loyal JW if they aren't ready for it. I doubt this video will make any impact on a JW, but I found it entertaining.
