Well I went through about 3 pages of this thread, and just wanted to post my comments.
nimzo,
There are a handful of teachings the Watchtowers uses to assert that they are unique and the only organization teaching truth. These include rejection of the orthodox trinity, eternal punishment which is conscious and immortality of the soul. Also thrown in there is the use of the name Jehovah and how JWs are the only ones to use it.
People who leave the Watchtower (what you call 'apostates') have a wide variety of opinions on these matters. Some disagree totally with these points, some just aren't concerned with these teachings and feel that other things are more important, and some people agree to a point. This is all either here nor there.
While debating theology can go nowhere fast, debating policies is a different story. Most all who are on this board are in complete agreement that many different policies put forth by the Watchtower leaders are biased, hurtful and devoid of meaning. Many on this board have seen abuses within the organization itself because of these failed policies. The multitude of such failures has been a determining factor is showing many how the Watchtower organization is not the one and only God ordained organization on earth.
One case in point is the "two witness rule" and disfellowshipping. Because of this technicality, all that is necessary to get somebody disfellowshipped you do not like is for two people to lie about what they saw. I currently know two people who suffered as a result of this rule. One is currently disfellowshipped because two people made accusations against her that where false, but because there where "two witnesses" their testimony was of more value. When the family appealed to the Society their cries fell on deaf ears. They where so shocked that the Society would not help them. After many months they began to see how broken the system was, and left it.
Again, the Watchtower can fight for it's "right" to disfellowship all it wants, but at the end of the day the psychological and social pressures it creates shows that it is far from a "blessing".
Another major factor that makes disfellowshipping a broken policy is the Judicial committee. Everything in these committees are done in secret, with very little external review. I know Elders that have sat on the "appeal" committees and from their testimony most of the time they where simply expected to uphold what the previous decision was. One Elder I know got in a heap of trouble for wanting to overturn the previous decision.
The point is that because everything is secret it is all to easy for abuses of this system to occur. There are no checks and balances in the system. I would also like to add that Biblicaly there is simply no support for the long list of rules and stipulations regarding all of the various aspects of these policies. Where does the Bible use the term "judicial committee"? Where is a process of appeals discussed? Where does it say that it is necessary for every single one of these things to remain in private? Where does it say that once three Elders rule in this decision family and friends are 100% cut off from a person? It is total conjecture to get to these points.
This is not complaining. The Watchtower has failed policies. Regardless of how you feel on doctrinal issues, don't let it cloud your judgment. I used disfellowshipping as an example. Many other policies could be discussed. Those who have seen the abuses first hand realize that they do not speak well for a religious system that claims to be the only true Christian group on earth.
Jehovah's Witness here.

Nimizo,
Most of us do not mind using the name Jehovah, but we do mind:
WTBTS being an NGO member for 10 years with the United Nations and signing a contract to forward its principles.
Sexual predators sheltered by the 2-witness rule, neglecting to notify authorities and making it a secret crime, and making it possible for them to continue their sexual perversions.
Paying $$$ to sexually abused children to avoid WT exposure (and loosing) in court.
Being prevented to study the Bible with our Jehovah-given critical thinking without fear.
Fabrication of false prophesies.
Leading thousands of people to the sacrificial Watchtower altar before accepting blood products. Remember tissue transplants?
WTBTS and it’s so called Governing Body takes over JESUS position as mediator between GOD and MAN. They have accused many others of doing the same thing while they do it themselves.

Nah, my religion is fine. I done a lot of research on my religion, long with looking up old WatchTower articles. I find nothing wrong with it, and I know how many times those apostate websites misquoted the WatchTower articles.. So if anyone is misleading, its them. So like I said, Don't anyone tell me what I need to know, because I know it all already.

Nimzo Thanks so much for posting. Your opening statement, dripping with sarcasm, a superior attitude and labelling people you do not even know has reminded me of exactly why I wish to have nothing to do with the seriously misled people who call themselves Jehovahs Witnesses.
