It was great fun. I rigged up a fog machine on the porch and spent the evening scaring small children. You can't get a better night IMO

The kids had a great time and have even shared some of their 'takings' with me (arbeit with the prefix "Here dad, I don't like these ones ... so you can have them")

It was a lovely mild night (not the deep snow when I was over at the same time last year for a job interview) and we got to meet a lot of neighbours. All the kids were incedibly polite and had obviously put a lot of effort into their custumes (some of the little tots were incredibly cute).

We probably bought too much candy but I'm sure I'll get throught it ...

lol... that's typical. Just hold on to the 'lame' pieces for a few weeks until their stash runs out.... they'll be so sugar dependent they'll take anything. good to hear you're having fun.

Glad to see you had a good time.

I was on my way home from the store and all the kids were running from door to door (Bet this is a lot more fun than the old door to door) and was wondering how you were doing with a Canadian Halloween.

Sounds like fun! It was very quiet up here, I didn't have anyone even ring my bell! My kids all went to their big halloween party on the weekend. But you are right - the weather was great - usually we have snow on Halloween, so you must have brought good weather with you.

A belated welcome to Canada, by the way.

Glad you (and the kids) had a great Halloween Simon!

We were all ready for the little ghost and goblins but can't compete with the old downtown area just a couple of blocks away all the merchants stay open and put on a big festive Halloween celebration with lots of goodies for the kids. So we only had 6 come to our house this year! Glad I didn't buy too much candy and I'll give the left overs to our neighbor's kids.

    Here's a picture of my goofy jack-o-lantern:

Ooooh a fog machine. How cool. We never even though of that! Thanks for the tip for next year.

My husband was dressed in green (with a green wig and green paint all over him). He had fun scaring the kiddies too -- although they weren't sure exactly what he was. He called himself "Hairy Green". I didn't get it, but oh well.

I just got back from DoodleV and savagebhudda's place. they had a family emergency so I went over to look after their daughter and hand out candy. It was fun.

I'm happy to hear you had a great time.

My sister in law is in Calgary and has a great time dressing her kids for halloween....

...and they buy huge bags of 'treats' for the neighboring kids who come calling.

I wish I could be there for one.

Here, in small-town NZ, we haven't seen any 'trick or treaters' for a couple of years.

    Cheers

    Chris

    He called himself "Hairy Green".

In my high state, that is extremely disturbing and hilarious!
