We survived our first Canadian halloween!

Here in our neck of Canada, there was a nasty rain storm that blew in horizontally putting a quick end to the door to door work of collecting candy. It seems that it usually a miserable night where we live (either rain or snow).

We ourselves don't actually "do" Halloween, but the kids were busy with music rehearsals and youth activities (where they had a pumkin carving contest). At both locations, they chowded down on candy, plus I always buy some for them anyway so they won't feel hard done by. Usually we go out for supper and then do something fun like bowling. They look forward to it every year.

We had perfect cool windy weather....

the neighbours were all friendly, so many kids and teens were out and super cute costumes!

some were home made, they were awesome.

Great scary houses, many playred scary music

one looked like a ''movie'' scene out of DEXTER. white sheet over a garage door, bright light inside and you see shadow of a body laying on a table, and a man with a chain saw...(a teen) and he pretends to cut off a body's head. and it was very well done. (shadows and light)

My son's costume scared some little kids, he had to take off the mask to show that it was just a young boy. (scream mask and black robe)

His first time ever trick or treating...

We had a good time, and I too, bought too much candy for the trick or treaters.

All the kids were incedibly polite

Of course, they are Canadian eh? Nothing better than those super scary houses that make the kids nervous to knock at. Glad you all enjoyed your first Canuk Halloween!

Here's my little Pokeman and Kitty Cat, getting ready to go load up on candy! They had a blast and made out like bandits.

We had great weather for the evening last night - about 10-13 C / 50-56F

As long as you are dressed well it is great. Just wait until it is -20C / -20 F (the only degree that is the same on both scales)

    -40C = -40F

    -20C = -4F

I've visited where it was -60C or -76F one winter night.

The air froze and what looked like a pretty thick fog was actually ice crystals suspended in the air.

It was so cold, (average day time temp was -30C)

that when it climed to a balmy -10C, (14F) it felt like spring and people were wearing only T-shirts. I am not kidding.
