When a truly genuine, caring person, with vision, a brian, and the guts to really be different and change things pops up on my political radar, I'll vote for that person. He or she probably won't stand a chance of being elected though.

So far, Obama seems the closest thing, but I don't know if he has the guts to be really different.

I agree with IP_SEC: political parties are devisive. Just as religion is devisive. They are all about: "may way is better than yours", and not really about doing the right thing.

Do the US parties have widely differing policies? I mean is there a real choice to make between the two? If not, IP may be correct that political parties are there to divide people!

    Sademo,

No there is no real difference. The differences are purely topical. For example: The current crop of conservatives claim to be for small government and conservative spending. Yet they spend and grow the Gov in such a way that I believe they would make even FDR blush.

Yes changeling and in fact party affiliation becomes a quasi-religion to many people.

There is not substantial difference in the way the parties operate, but there is a difference in what they support their spending on. Republicans typically spend more on the military and farm subsidy programs, Democrats spend more on socialistic entitlement programs. That's my perspective at least.

I consider myself progressive. Conservatives are greedy. Liberals are flaky wimps. The rich need to give up some of their cash or the common man will take it all and kill them. We seem to be at the end of a wealth accumulation cycle. Let the sharing begin!!!!

    I'm a conservative Republican.

    I'm for prayer in school.

I think people that fall upon hard times are lazy and worthless and it's irresponsible to help them.

I think the best foreign policy is bomb first, ask questions later.

Especially if the country we're bombing doesn't believe in Jesus.

I'm all for a Theocracy, with Christ ruling as King.

Until that day comes, I'd say I'm a compassionate Libertarian.

I guess Anarchist comes about as close to my political orientation than any other, but there are so many different type anarchist I can't say for sure.

I'm all for taking away the power of the State, and mega rich and giving it back to the people, which is real democracy, not the phoney make-beleive democracy which the american people have been indoctrinated to beleive thier government is.

No, I hadn't heard about that faction before. I just read up on them on Wikipedia. I'd have to disagree that true Chistians would be anarchist, rather they are Theocracists enduring under whatever form of Government holds sway over the land they find themselves living under. Yet another "labeled" group out there. The way I believe, if anyone is practicing those things Christ and His disciples taught necessary for salvation, and avoiding all they are commanded to avoid, they're truly Christian, and saved. Putting labels on everything outside of that is human. That is why we see so many apparent versions of Christianity, some false, some true, imo.

However, having read the Wiki article, I agree with the faction on most everything else written about in the article.

    BA- Christian.
