Just heard from a very reliable source(C.O. visit for a elder/friend) that 2 congo's here in detroit will be contracted. It seems that the virginia park and west grand blvd, congregations are to be disbanded. Now why you ask? They were due up for the renovation scam, but they couldn't afford the loan amount. I use to attend one of these congo's and they are a good people of meager means.

It seems that when the RBC came round for their renovation, they couldnt get the monies or resolution passed for the loan. What does the loving mother organization do? Contract them and now the C.O. is sending out feelers for other congo's that need P.O.'s. You see while the people of these congo's are of little means, I know for a fact that the P.O. of the one I went to grips a caddie(and is on the RBC.) He and the other P.O.would like to keep their position so they requested that the C.O. send them to a congo that needs a P.O.

All sounds like a bunch of B.O. to me. Sadly these people all lived within walking distance of this particular hall. Alas, further proof that this BORGanization is not about love for fellow man but their profit scheme.

Darth- Yeah, the organization has to keep more funds available for future child molestation scandals , as well as covering possible future lawsuits extorting sums of monies from bereaved witness widows ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

So, where does the money go, for the sale of the buildings?

Generally the money on the sale of a hall is rolled over into the cost of the new one. Since there is not going to be another hall, I can only guess that it will go to the society.

You should give the WTBS a Break. It's a Business Decision After All. If a Congregation isn't making Money for them, they need to close it down.

The sad part of it all is that the JW's in those two congregations will belive it is a gift from Jehovah that they get to spend $3 + a gallon for gasoline to drive to where they will be assigned to instead of hoofing it and getting exercise as they serve Jehovah.

While this is all about the money, to be fair- they will soon lose so many elders and
publishers that this would have to happen anyway.

Mother just pulled the plug when there wasn't anymore fleecing to do here.

This might be a trial balloon. They can see how U.S. dubs react to such bold moves.

Or maybe Mother just doesn't care anymore. Unprofitable is axed.

Let's not be too hard on Crooklyn. After all, what's a multi-billion dollar corporation who claims to follow in Jesus' footsteps, supposed to do for a relatively poor congregation? Just give them the money for the renovations? Would Jesus do that? Of course not. He would tell them what a bunch of cheap followers they were, sell their meeting place to some rich Jews and pocket the money so he could settle a few sexual abuse claims out of court.

If God's people cannot afford a renovation, does this mean God's blessings are not upon them?

Or is that just unforeseen occurrances?

If they are doing God's work more effectively right in the area where people can walk to the hall,
could they do it without a renovation for awhile? Could Mother just pay for the stupid renovation
so more poor people can come to know "the truth" ? Inquiring minds already know.

I get what you are saying mary. What really kills me is this: Isn't there a lil box in the back of the hall for something called the kingdom hall fund?

When I was going I was told that a mere 10K could build a hall in other countries. For years, the more 'fruitfull' nations, have contributed to this cause. Now that a congo needs some payback, its no can do.

OTWO you have a good point, they could be merely killing 2 birds with one stone.
