I just had a flash back to second grade.I wanted Black hair because all the black girls in my class could wear beads and barretts in their hair and I really liked the designs they would wear the braids in.

My hair was too baby fine and barretts would fall out of my hair and get lost.I now have thick hair but in a baby fine texture and I can't wear pony tails without taking them out a couple of times a day and re doing them because they start falling out.Braids still fall out unless I glue my hair down with hair spray.I hate using product in my hair so I only use shampoo and conditioner daily. I color my hair about every 8 weeks or so.Other than that I use nothing in my hair.

BTW what is scratching out??Do you really have to scratch her hard??Does that hurt her??

Scratching out the dandruff with a comb. Yep have to do it before I wash her hair. Nope, it doesn't hurt her but she's not fond of it. I didn't scratch out her scalp before her relaxer because doing so would have increased her chance of being burned by the process.

Lots of new hair dos this week!

I'm so excited for her! I remember being 10 when my mom let me get a perm! (It was the early 90's when the big hair was still in). I can't wait to see the new picture.

    LOL I don't blame her.

I've never had dandruff but my little sister and my brother have had it for as long as I can remember.

I can't wait to see the after picture.I bet she's prancing around like she's hot stuff today after her make over.

Well, give your Big Sis across the Big Water a !!!

Then, tell Da Ninja if he messes with you, I'll go oomph upside his nappy head. I can say that. I-mus couldn't. Heeheehee.

As a straight-haired person from a family where curly hair was considered the only "pretty" kind, I got perms from the time I was a single digit in age. It didn't seem to do any harm, not even psychologically.

Good for you and your daughter, Mrs. J. A gal should do what makes her feel good about herself.

I have to comb my daughter's head before she showers too. She is very prissy and won't scrub her scalp. She holds her pinky up to use a pancake turner! When we discovered the problem she had dead skin so thick it was matting down her hair. So we had to do the cradle cap routine, baby oil, comb, wash, repeat. She doesn't mind it so much now that she is 12 and noticing boys.

Is Jocelyn a girlie girl or a tomboy? My 10 yr old Morgan is my tomboy who wants to have her eyebrows waxed regularly.

I'm looking forward to the after shot, she's just a beauty!

Somehow leaning towards girlie girl but she won't wear dresses (unless she has to) and she prefers blue over pink. Loves make up and nail polish (I only let her wear lip gloss), totally loved it when I was doing Mary Kay. But she's tough, she plays mind games with her brothers and can make her big brother cry (he's 13).
