If you can be honest, were you more morally upright as a Jehovah's Witness?
Are You A More "Moral" Person Now Than When You Were A Witness?

Honestly, I don't think my morals have changed too much.

I am enjoying the fact that what I chose to do or not do is based on what I honestly feel is right and not what I am told is right or not.
Being able, for the first time in my life, to make desicions based on my own instinct is liberating.
I have not changend who I am or what I believe is right, I just have the freedom to express it.

Changeling, does that automatically mean that you're necessarily "moral", though???

I do no harm. I consider that moral.

I think I am. As a Witness, I may have tried to act out of fear of retribution. Now that I have a personal relationship with Christ, I try to act out of love to Him and others and also to become a better person. In order to personally evolve to a higher state.

Being moral suggests that you conform to society's notion of what's right and wrong. I know of persons who have sex with many different partners. Others may look down on this lifestyle and regard them as 'immoral". But those that practice their lifestyle regard themselves as good moral persons.

I was as a Witness only because...for the same reasons BurnTheShips said...fear of retribution.
Now I live my life and do what I feel is right. I try to be nice and fair, I try to be a good friend and a good mother. Basically, I try to be a good person with healthy morals.

I'm no longer a slave to the morality police.
Personally, I find actions that intentionally harm other people or the environment are immoral.
I try my best to avoid these.
Kindeness is my moral compass.

Depends on whose set of morals you're judging by. I'm a lot less judgmental, and more open to other people's points of view and ways of life, that's for sure. So in that sense, I'm more moral. I also have to base my morals on a different premise; before I would perhaps not do something because God had said so, now I have to think it through; "why exactly should I not do this?". And it's not like I've started stealing, lying etc. any more than I did when I was a JW either.
