  why didn't they stop Judas from betraying Jesus? Or better yet, Peter from denying him?

  And what about the Israelites leaving Egypt? They saw the plagues poured out on Egypt, the Pillar of Fire, The Red Sea parted, The manna, the quail, etc, etc, etc.

  That is exactly the point I made above.

  Faith is what is required.

  Miracles are soon forgotten.

  But real Faith endures, and willl be rewarded.

  Faith is what was counted as righteousness in Abraham.

  Faith is the one quality that seperates God's chosen ones throughout history from the rest of humanity.

  Yet God in His mercy has provided for His two witnesses to once more perform miracles for a brief time.

  Once they are no more, it will be by faith, not miracles, that His chosen ones will live.

  With the progress of science and knowledge the mystery of God is lost. We've just become to smart for the myth of the Bible or any other holy book! Sorry but its just that simple!

  If miracles were needed to strengthen the faith of his disciples and confirm their authenticity so soon after his earthly presence, wouldn't they be even more critical today, 2000 years after?

  Stay tuned, Nvr. According to Rev 11, we are going to see some powerful miracles worked by His Two Witnesses.

  I agree with Brother A and Old Flame that faith - a product of Holy Spirit - is needed in order to believe this.

  I've had quite enough of the dim bulb Armageddon is almost here clique so you're about see your miracle. These people have no knowledge of the 2,000 year history of false predictions and silly prophecies.

  They would do well to read "The Last Days are Here Again" which covers such history.

  I have a terribly dissenting point of view .

  I don't believe any of the miracles in the bible ever happened .

  I don't believe in the resurection , I don't believe Jesus raised anyone from the dead and I don't think faith healing is real in anyway shape or form .

  To me it's no more real than big foot or the easter bunny or any of the strange gods of norse mythology. As a child I wanted to believe , as a matter of fact I would like to believe it now , but it's all just some storys with a message.

  It's not real. It's all hearsay . It's undocumented . It's only words in a book nothing more.

  That being said . I still love the story of Jesus very much ,but, his message may be true but the lies told about him are not.

  Nothing has changed. None of those things recorded in the bible ever actually happened. Historically, yes! Miraclessly, no!

  All history writing is the story of man, nothing more, nothing less.

  one poster referred to psychadelic bread - I read that temple priestesses used a type of hallucinogenic honey in their ceremonies. I do think there is an element of enhanced perception involved in many of the reported miracles.

  That being said, I think we are still seeing miracles today, and I think there is a scientific explanation for all of the miracles of old. We see people come back to life who are in a coma, for example. Pre-technological age people would have called this resurrection.

  Don't forget the effects of re-telling the story many times until it assumes a heroic proportion. Every culture has folklore that gets more mystical and fantastic over time.

  Where would one obtain such honey today, for the purposes of research, of course?

  To all those saying the miracles never happened, that was kinda my point.

  To those that believe that they did and are awaiting more in the future, more power to you all.
