Organized religion provides a framework of belief to base one's life on; it seems to provide answers to some difficult questions; it relieves one from actually thinking and examining for oneself what they are; it keeps people separate from one another and separate from what they believe "god" to be. If people would only find out for themselves what they really are all of those things would resolve themselves spontaneously and organized religion would wither and die on its own.
Who on this Board would love to get rid of Organized Religion?

Not me: any time you get a group together you have "organization."
To follow through with your thought, the Church would have to go: No thanks, I vote to keep it warts, scars, bad history, and all.
Take care,

Forget building the church....lets just get to the anointing each other with oil !!!....................oompa
ROFLMAO.....let the oiling commence. I can see people rolling their eyes at this already.
Without laughter, you have just wasted one day of your life.

I see. So If we said, we want an end to Organized Crime, I guess that's hate speech too?
It's one thing to say you dislike Organized Religion and want to discourage people from being involved with it. To seek to ban ("get rid of") Organized Religion would require the type of activity that Lenin and Stalin were made famous for. Are you proposing we set up gulags and work camps for all those who want to worship in churches or synagogues or mosques, etc?
