It is ok to say "I do not know" to any theological question and still feel fine about this whole "Christian" thing....

Rational thought....or as near as a hillbilly can get....

    CHRISTMAS.....

That is a few....don't miss the JWs at all.....that is so cool.....

I can love who ever I want, As a JW if I saw a Priest, Nun, Minister,Reverand,I would say some stupid remark ( to whom ever I was out in service with)"Look there goes the Vultures. "( HOW DARE I)
Now many of the above are my friends.
I can buy Christmas gifts, birthday, Ann,gifts to whomever I want. And I do.
I cant do a ruddy thing to gain Gods Salvation. He did it all.
I can go into the second hand shop run by a religious group. & buy! without thinking it is demonized.
    I do...

I can love you you Apostates & I DO!!!!!

    • I no longer have anyone nagging me to go to meetings or serviceā„¢.
    • I no longer have JWs poking at my stomach and telling me to stop eating every time I go to the hall.
    • I don't have to shave if I don't want to.
    • I can watch what I want on TV or listen to whatever music I want without someone whining, "THAT'S INAPPROPRIATE!"
    • I choose my own priorities.
    • I can take courses without being persecuted for it.
    • If I need a blood transfusion in order to live people won't hate me for it now.
    • I don't have to look over my shoulder to see if other cultists are spying on my activities.
    • I no longer have to dumb myself down so the elders won't feel bad.
    • I no longer feel guilty for not living up to cult standards. I set my own standards now, and interestingly, they're higher than WT standards.

The WT took my spirituality from me and held it prisoner. Now I have it back and my spirit can soar.

    REAL Friendships with REAL people.

A REAL relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who is not now and never will be Michael the arcangel.

The freedom to pray any old time I want without worry about God not liking it. ( I was told by an elder one time that I shouldn't fall asleep talking to Jehovah!)

Who among us parents would be mad if our children wanted to talk to us as they fell asleep?

Too many more blessings to name. And yes, these freedoms were bought with a price. But that's ok.

OnTheWayOut, my thoughts exactly. I will stick with the freedom I have right now, that is freedom of guilt and freedom of thought free of any WT dogma.

    Acceptance of what is

Taking people and events as just what they are, not as a "sign" of anything or evidence of "demons"

Judging others by their behavior ("fruits") rather than their standing with a bunch of autocrats or their loyalty to an organization that cares little about them

Learning, learning, learning - expansion of spirituality, intellect and social skills as well as introspection and self acceptance/understanding

True friendships based on mutual caring and respect

Quality family time, rituals and celebrations

Helping others in a real world, down to earth way - donating time and goods to those in need and a listening ear to those who need to vent

    Real vacations

Earning enough money to have a life

    And so many more . . . .
