I'm generous with my friends, but as far as being a good tipper, well......not really

But I will have to say I'm getting annoyed these days, cause just about every place from Starbucks to the dry cleaners have tip jars out.

yeah that would piss me off too. I'm a good tipper, always giving more...unless, of course, the service was not good.
My friend's own a really cool restaurant, and the wait-staff are always happy to see us walk in....lol....

Yes. Usually 20%, but even bad service will get 10%.

i have been tipping 20% for years now, and not because i couldnt do the math!! ( i mean come on!! how hard is "10% plus half again" sheesh!)
poor service does get a smaller consideration, and tip jars are hit and miss..... i have to be really impressed or delighted by performance to feed a tip jar

Prices in restaurants have more then doubled since we have the damn Euro. And so I do not tip (much).

yes, especially with the company credit card. Quite a few years ago one hotel I stayed at a lot, always tipped the bartender really good. One night I got in after the kitchen was closed. Due to tipping so well, the staff got a few items out of frig and microwaved for me, enough to tie me over to breakfast.
If I frequent a place a lot, I always tip well. It does pay.
