So, to summarize the Bible: God created mankind and hides himself from us ever since, except to exterminate us from time to time.
I also believe in God, but the Bible really makes it very hard.

he, he. Somebody said "ass".
Can we move on?
Another flood link.. Very well researched I thought...

The Great Flood... What a vivid memory I have of dear old mom reading me this story out of the My Book of Bible Stories. Seeing people die and drown, and then being told that this was because they pissed off God...
"Good night Jeffy" Mom said after she read that....
It's amazing the amount of emtional investment we put in our beliefs, even if the come from scrolls thousands of years old...
Here's the thing about the Ark being "found". I remember watching the "documentary" on TV when they first "found" it... Do you think by now they would have done research on this damn thing in similar fashion to the Titanic? How many times have those remains been revisited? And why? BECAUSE YOU CAN! BECAUSE IT IS THEIR AND ACTUALLY EXISTS!
The Ark, not so much.
the following is a paper by a actual geologist with an in depth theory of how the "ark" formed in the rock

What about that doesn't make sense?
Good post...although I do have some questions for your avatar! LOL
Inkling, thank you for that brilliant link. I'm glad to see that this has been investigated scientifically, with no religious agendas. I'm not sure I understand the whole process of the formation but if its true Ron Wyatt is one hell a liar! Nonetheless it makes sense. The Turkish Gov. knew about this area since 59 and would have had plenty of time to do their own study. If the Turks built a lodge there then they might just be doing it to meet a demand for pilgrimages and tourist dollars.
You see Farkel. I was wrong. I admitted it. I can't apologize though, since you called me a delightful fool. Oh well the delightful part was nice anyways.
Now, the thing is, We still have two other Ark sites to investigate. What I find so strange is, what are the chances of a natural formation looking like that, that has the the same dimesions and is resting on Ararat. The other two sites are intruiging as well. Is God playing his old cosmic gag reel again? I still think there is enough evidence however, not just from bible, but accounts from other cultures of what I think were fairly large regional floods.
I will try to provide links to the other two controversial Ark sites and see what folks think. In a manner of probablility if you had to choose one of these last two areas as a potential site which one would you choose and why.... or no cigar for all of them. Hold on to your seat Farkel! wer'e going higher up the mountain this time, and then we will take a little visit to Iran.
Back in 1943 a man was building roads with a team in Iran. He was told by a local that Noah's Ark was up in the mountains and that he would take him there to see it. The man is dead now but drew a map of the location. This map was given to Bon Cornunke. It does look impressive close up. This is at 13600 ft. There are several more links once you get to this site for anyone that wishes to see better photos. I was sure that this one was the ark until I saw Ron Wyatts bullshit video. People have vistited this site for thousands of years as evidence of pottery shards are strewn about at this extreme height. They do offer an explanation as to why it is in Iran, but not in this clip. The thing thats even harder to beleive about this one though is that 13600 ft of water is like someone dumped the ocean on the Middle East.

This next clip is back on Arrarat much much higher up. This particualr sight has been visited for a long time. Once again there are several clips of this area if anyone wishes to add. This is a short clip but you can see a beam under the snow. There are no trees and it is a very volatile area. What the hell is that doing up there. Ypou can see it is well covered in snow and ice as well. Not something one usually sees.
Anyhow, you decide. Frankly its been fun, but I'm really getting tired of Gods games.

Farkel - I know the two aren't mutually exclusive - but it's hard to let go of the bible if you've been brought up to believe it supposed to be the word of god and inspired and blah blah blah - yet the bible says soooo many things than can be or have been debunked. Then again one could take everything figuratively/spiritually but then it's interpreting it that way.
I guess my re-questioning everything "phase" is upon me again and I'll be spending many many hours reading/ researching.
