Me, too, plain! Butter when I'm not wearing suede.
Madre always prepared it atop the range, the old-fashioned way. I do recall those
aluminum throw-away poppers with the ballooning lid. So quik! So trouble-free!
Thanks for the input.

Even the Society gets it right (on occasion). They admitted that perfection is relative. For example, 'A "perfect" shirt, in the strictest sense of the word, would have to be indestructible, hence, made of diamonds. How would that feel to wear?' Honestly! So popcorn - always the right munchy at anytime - would not necessarily include at the doors. What about at the ubiquitous coffee break? HUH?
Thanx a heap! [of popcorn]
Emo:
Please, please - do not stress out! Click onto the popcorn ads and seek help! What have I started? What have I done?
Now you be careful, OK? Let us know, even if it requires sending a smoke signal (sorry - kinda).
Thank you again.

I will have no more guilt when forced to eat bag after bag of the delicacy you have so mouth-wateringly described. I couldn't help it; this thread made me do it!
Muchas gracias!

Sad emo...
No need for a panic attack. Making popcorn from scratch is very easy.
Use a covered pot. Cover the bottom with oil. "Make sure you put the lid on" Keep gently shaking the pot on the stove until you hear no more "popping" Et voilĂ !
I melt butter in microwave, then put on the popcorn when done.
Good luck:-)

All this talk about popcorn. My mom used to make really good popcorn... she put oil in a deep pan, and got it hot, then put the corn in, and after a few minutes. it would start popping. She would put melted butter on it, and salt. mmmmmmm good.
When I left home, I wanted popcorn, and not being able to make it like she did, I got me a hot-air popper. Those are the kind where you put popcorn into the machine, turn it on, and it heats up air - which eventually gets the popcorn kernals hot enough to pop.
I also melt butter (real butter - not that margarine stuff) on the stove, and spoon it over the popcorn - and salt it.
My wife (and anyone else who has eaten it) says that I make the best popcorn she has ever had.
I dunno... but I _do_ know that I like it.

mmmmm, I love popcorn!! I make mine on the stove top as well - never did like the artifical taste of the microwave kind.
I like just a bit of melted butter and a sprinkle of good sea salt. Yum!!

OK, now I've done it! I just bought a bag of popcorn. Never have I done this before. So basic, so usual, so behind the times am I!
I'll get back to you unless the fire marshall gets in my way.
