writetoknow, You are having some difficulty communicating ideas. The following runon sentence from you is almost impossible to decipher:

So what! If you don't believe in God and everything is made up sounds like man has the problem with cruelty and man needs someone to blame for their actions can't have it both ways hum?
There are four sentences in the above sentence you wrote. I really don't intend to hurt your feelings. You may have good ideas, but they need to be expressed coherently. Are you saying man is to blame for Jehovah's cruelty? Or do you mean that if we blame Jehovah for cruel actions, we should also blame humans who act like Jehovah? Please elaborate. Perhaps, a spouse or close friend can help to edit your comments before you submit them. tms

The Ot says that God did everything to have people change but there came a point when he just had to act. I undestand how one can get angry with God.

I think(hope) that in the long scheme of things God will find a way to forgive everyone. We are all his creatures and all related to each other. Knowing the type of God that HE is, Almighty, I believe that there can even be hope for anyone in the distant future. In the meantme, God's justice must act to stop forces that harm the meek and helpless.

I agree with the opening post. The worst thing that the WTS did was encourage me to 'read god's word the bible daily'. As I read some of the aforementioned texts I became more and more disallusioned with the whole concept of a loving god. The laws and commands in the OT are shocking. Things got even worse for me when I researched such scriptures in the WT library.

Of course, I'm taking the Bible writer's words at face value that Jehovah was involved in merciless, vengeful and unjust acts. If Jehovah exists but is not as the writers portrayed him, I apologize. He may not be almighty, either, which limits his ability to control how he is portrayed.

Who forgives god then? Should an almighty, all knowing not contain some infinite level of self control?

Regarding Carlin. He makes an very good point concerning plans and prayer. If he is real and has an divine plan. What is he waiting for? He can't end, he is omnipotent. What does he have to prove? The bible says he is all powerfull, he says he is all powerfull. Who is questioning his sovereignty? It can only be those below him. So what is the problem? Lunacy, shear lunacy.
