The Younger ones will not know they are being duped - all the old material will have been white-washed - so it is actually in the WTS best interest that these old ones pass
What will be the reaction in the congregation when...

wha happened?
I did notice in several congregations that the older ones were sorta pushed aside anyways. Almost like they didn't like the old thinking. This was especially the case when it came to shepherding the flock

Still: Couldn't agree more.
Like others, the "pillars" I knew have already all died. New pillars are probably in place, though of course I wouldn't know any more. In my jaded view, the latest pillars will pass away, be briefly mourned, and forgotten as the past ones.
The insanity continues...

My dad died in 1984 and left my mum on her own who was and continued to be a really zealous witness. Obviously the comfort she got from her belief at the time from all the bros and sisters who came to visit was that she wouldn't have to wait long as armageddon was just about to come and she would be seeing him very soon.
Roll on 23 years later and my mum died last year and it breaks my heart to know that the false promises she was given never came to fruition. She never saw a new system and a paradise as promised after having dedicated nearly 60 years to that belief. None of her friends who were the main stalwarts of the cong then are now around but at least they were genuine in their belefs and feelings towards others not like the bunches of uptight bigots that there are now.

NMG:
You assert that SINCE: Some Jehovah's Witnesses have committed sins THEREFORE: they can't be God's People.
This is the same as saying that it is permissable to disqualify ANY religion whose members committ sins.
Your selective application of this general rule to JW's shows you have a perverted way of sifting through relevant information.
So at the very least you are expressing a prejudiced view. And unfortunately this prejudiced view is the dominant view on this discussion board.
If it was expected that 100% of its members are to be free of sin then why would we find these two scriptures:
2 Peter 2:2 Furthermore, many will follow their acts of loose conduct and on account of these the way of the truth will be spoken of abusively.
1 Cor. 5:1 Actually fornication is reported among you, and such fornication as is not even among the nations...
So you have a big task. Find some organization that is without any kind of sin.
But there is ONE sin that has been facilitated by so-called Christians - Killing on the battlefield. And that's the worst sin that has plagued mankind. Don't come up with the wars of the Israelites. Jesus changed that. Of course Christendom missed that - or more probably ignore that.

Proplog2 -- You seem to think that "battle killing" is the thing that determines who God's true people are. Those who don't pick up the sword (like JWs) are in some way superior.
I disagree with this reasoning. There is a such thing as righteous war.....battle done for righteous reasons. You nor I are the ones that can determine when it's righteous or not because
we do not have all the facts and knowledge about the situations and issues behind the scenes.
And, besides, all the apostles carried swords as they walked alongside Jesus. What do you think they were for.....to swat flies? I don't believe Jesus advocated strict passivity at all.

wha happened?
I thought NMG was refering to the leadership, not the rank and file. This is similar to the situation in the first century when the religious leaders in their day acted false to their word. The rank and file are just that. Some intentionally sin, some don't. And that's the case in any religion. But when the self appointed/spirit directed leaders are speaking out of both side of their mouths, then I would say they disqualify themselves as God's people.

Hi believe that the contributions will dry up. The congregations are mainly supported by the generous contributions of these older ones. Once they are gone so will the money
-
wha happened?
Yes contributions! In two of the congregations I attended that were rather affluent, the donations were always low. Local needs talks? Donations. As people sharpen up their attitude to blindly giving tightens up.

Journey:
The just-war doctrine is merely an excuse to pursue war. In Jesus' day there was no police force in rural areas. It was filled with predators.
You had to be able to defend yourself.
War on the other hand is not self-defence - it is national defence. And there is no earthly nation that Christians ought to defend.
If Christians refused to go to war there would never had been a NAZI Germany because Christians would have refused to do Hitlers bidding.
