Have you ever intentionally said crazy things from the platform?

Like have you said stuff that is just outright insane like "each and every one of us should be ready and willing to die for the society" purely in the hopes that you'd turn someone off? I imagine for most of us trying to fade that would be the most difficult thing to do, but some people are really good at shutting down and just going with a flow, too.

I ask because it's the only possible explanation I can come up with for some of the really bat-shit insane stuff I've heard come from the podium.

yeah, i did! not as crazy as "everyone should die for the society" and nothing what isnt part of the official doctrine, but i did it. not only from the podium, even from the seat as an answer. there is enough crazy stuff and i dont camouflage it anymore - i name it. and it worst thing is that you see some ppl nodding and being happy of it. i dont get it.

Once I was giving a talk 4 on the ministry school and told the audience " How do you know if you are in the truth?" I used the example of the Bereans and said that we must each do our own study to be sure. Boy, did I get into trouble. I was told that other people need to study, not us! They really tore me a new one!

I said whatever it took to keep the audience smiling and nodding their heads.

When they stopped smiling and nodding their heads I ad libbed until they once again started smiling and nodding their heads.

I viewed talks in the same manner I viewed my work.

I sold used automobiles for one of the biggest shysters in Tennessee and said whatever it took to sell the junk he had on his lots.

The only difference between selling his junk vehicles and giving talks was the physical locations involved.

At work I sold junk by making the 'marks' smile and nod their heads.

From the platform I sold the Watchtower's junk doctrines by making the 'marks' smile and nod their heads.

Nothing intentionally, but once I was giving a bible reading and while reading I thought I had messed up, so I abruptly stopped short of reading all of the word "kingship" (I read "kingshi-")and it sounded like I said "king's sh!t". After that it was all I could do to finish the reading and I DID NOT look up at the audience anymore!!!

funny that even a JW would audibly admit that... they all know it, but I am surprised to hear you got counsel for it!

I only snuck a small but large point into a #4 talk about blood a few months ago. It was from the Reasoning Book which said nothing about fractions. I added in my conclusion that recently there has been new "direction" regarding blood fractions. And that even though fractions come from blood that has been donated and stored, some fractions are now a conscience decision.
What you have to know is that the RB uses the scripture that blood must be poured out on the ground and given back to Jah as its entire basis for avoiding blood, and I had read that scripture just before my fraction comment.

I hoped that it might spark something in peoples minds..."How is a fraction acceptable if it comes from donated/stored blood not poured out? Doesnt that void that logic all together??? Why yes it does!"

As Freeme stated, they all nodded. I got compliments on that talk for months! Numerous elders said that it was an excellent talk. I guess they never got my point....

    Where do I start?

My aging father was giving the "special talk". You read the "Special talk". You do not adlib. Anyway dad began to adlib on the subject of racial discrimination and actually said the "n" word, from the platform, in his rambling adlib. I almost pissed myself. That was the funniest thing I saw from the platform.

He was removed as an Elder.

I was in a demonstration with two other brothers where they actually started arguing on the platform. We got way off subject. Finally, when it was my turn to say something. I said “I think I’m in the wrong demonstration”. We were running out of time and had to end it. You had to be there. It was a hoot.

One time a brother put his glasses down on the podium and he was leaning on the top of it and it collapsed on his glasses.
There was a newly baptized guy who was being interviewed on stage and when he touched the mic, he got a shock and instinctively yelled “Shit!!”

I would always raise my hand during the Watchtower study and ask questions they could not answer. In fact, they revoked my “privilege to answer”. What a crock of s**t. The meetings are not for Witnesses to learn they are for indoctrination purposes. If you interrupt the cadence, you spoil the brain washing. As a result of this I was DF’d for apostasy.

If you’re still a Witness and planning on quitting, do some research on each study Watchtower and you will find discrepancies in the lit. Raise your hand and ask about them.

I used to love to counsel the elders from the platform. I was not a butt kisser, and they hated when I had a part in a program.

No not intentionally, but ignorantly. One time as the chaiman of the Sunday Morning meeting, I announced that "Brother & Sister So & So had given birth to a new baby, and that we should be sure to give them our condolences.
