I like what you said too, except where in the greek scriptures does it say we have to visit his house 3x a week?

CoCo: I guess if you are a deist, you have to find a way around the terrible things attributed to god. I see their point.

However, it is much cleaner and simpler (and nore logical IMHO) to reach the conclusion that he simply does not exist.

That's too funny. It got me wondering though. With all the similarities between that story and the jw, is it possible that the English form of Yaweh is Hank?

    Good post!

The reality doesn't quite jive with the "God is love" statement does it?

If such a parent existed, how would society view him? As a loving father or as a narcissistic sadist?

They'd view him as a megalomaniac. But in the US, they'd probably also say, It's his money, he can do what he wants with it. Narcissisism rules!

What would happen to such a parent ? Would he receive praise or would he end up in prison or an insane asylum?

I think he'd just get lonely and old. Hopefully he'd have cats to leave his money to, though there'd always be that one grasping nephew hoping he'd inherit the whole shebang.

On second thought, he'd probably leave all his money to a weird foundation that would publish his memoirs post humously. That'd be just like him.

And, don't forget that this parent has 10 children, and he has instructed every one of them to worship him differently.

Really, though, God's conceit is nicely explained by Homer Simpson, "Well, Ak, it's because God is powerful, but also insecure, like Barbara Streisand before James Brolin

Changeling you just ruined my day

Your description is the exact opposite of how a loving parent would react, which is your point i know.

You were brought up in the wts - i was not , therefore i fell for it. What a dumb idiot i was, never mind i am out

Great post Changeling I wish i had made the same connections sooner

BTW you did not ruin my day you never do!

    Regards David
